September is suicide prevention month, this month is near to me because of Jordan 🤍

If you knew Jordan, you knew she loved deeply, cared so much about everyone around her, was always smiling and laughing, and was truly a light in every room.

Losing her has taught me something I wish I never had to learn: you can love someone deeply and still not fully know the depth of what they are carrying. It’s taught me to love deeper, care more, cherish the people in my life, and never take a moment for granted. It’s also taught me that sometimes you have to take a step back, slow down, and allow yourself to truly feel every part of grief before you can begin to heal.

I’ve learned to always remind the people I love just how much they mean to me.

Her loss is a reminder that we never truly know what someone is carrying. So check on your people. Ask the extra question. Send the text. Make the call. Sit with someone when they don’t have the words. And don’t be afraid to tell the people you love exactly how much they mean to you.
