We did it! We were able to raise enough and find the exact car @madhippoworks lost in the fire! What a world! Thank you to everyone who donated, who showed up for moral support, and most importantly believed that this could happen. Big ups to @repo_ray for the transport and more.Big ups to @amir1le for getting that 510 moving. Big ups to @lizzys.lattes for the hospitality. Your whole family is amazing. I started @not_ev_altadena a year ago in hopes to bring some love to a town destroyed by fire. I started @altadenacarsandcoffee as way to bring people together to talk about how they were feeling. What I’ve learned over this past year is that it’s good to listen to the voice in the your head, to get uncomfortable, to start doing for others for the sake of doing for others. I still have no idea what I’m doing, but what I do know is to keep showing up. See you out on a walk or at the car thing.Thank you @madhippoworks and @hipoliz for trusting me.I love you Altadena. Altadena Cars & Coffee today marked the one year anniversary of the Eaton fire which is estimated to have destroyed about 5000 cars and 9000 buildings in their community. It is so impactful to see (and smell) these charred remains, and to thank the heavens it wasn't your car. Please consider donating to their GoFundMe for @madhippoworks Hippo's rebuild! One year ago today my Families world was turned upside down..we lost our Home of 28 Years to the Eaton fire. As we navigate thru this journey without any maps. Not knowing how long this will take. Long lost days, Always thinking of what I should of done. No time to sit and rest always prioritizing getting my Family Home. Working on anything and everything just to get exhausted enough to get some sleep..Looking at how strong my kids and wife have been thru this nightmare. I couldn't be more proud of them. To my parents who opened there home so we can have a roof over our heads..and the Blessings we have had for the people we have met along the way...Our HOME is still in the rebuild process and its already hosted my Birthday, a small Thanksgiving lunch, a Christmas traditon of watching its a Wonderful life using a bed sheet stapled to the wall while using a small projector with a bluetooth speaker, two gatherings with our neighbors make that 3 as we gathered today to be together and have a nice pot luck dinner..there were some tears some hugs and definitely alot of Love for what we had....amazing that a quote from a show that I watch with my kids would sum it all up and some how allow me to finally take a deep breath and know that we will be ok...we are still together and we will soon be HOME....❤️ by @madhippoworks

Sooooo....this Happened...To the HEART of this Family What happened to our neighborhood last year will never be forgotten. You literally walked thru the fire at my side while saving our Family. We lost what we had worked for for 27 years. As we came back Home to go thru whatever was left we were helped by @samaritanspurse as we went thru the rubble they found what was left of our wedding rings. Since that day we were figuring out how we were going to rebuild and still are..but behind the scenes I was able to save money for this day. To finally bend the knee and ask you to be my partner...my wife again...I dont think ive ever been that nervous....lol...but after all this you said yes again...especially with the best wingman ever Mr.Grinch as our witness...Once our HOME is rebuilt again we will renew our vows...to whatever 2026 holds I am blessed to have you at my side. I LOVE YOU BABE...YOUR STILL MY GIRL FROM HIGH SCHOOL...YOU ARE DEFINITELY STILL THE ONE.....❤️❤️ by @madhippoworks

I was able to catch up with Hippo and Liz. Lots of progress with lots more to do. They are the best parents in the world. We are raising money to him get his 1972 Datsun 510 that he lost in the fire. The one you see here is pretty cooked. All proceeds from the Not Ev shirts and the @altadenacarsandcoffee shirts will be going to him. Their GoFundMe is in my bio. by @madhippoworks
