let the city of fallen angels reread COMMENCE! ➰🪽⚔️ @cassieclare1 The last Shadowhunter book I picked up in my reread journey was in January of last year…clockwork princess did a freaking number on me 😅 but after bearing witness to @jennas.bookclub ‘s first time through the mortal instruments series last month, i’m finally feeling brave enough to push on once again!icymi, I still have yet to read The Dark Artifices and The Last Hours (these trilogies in the series released during my break from reading) so I’m doing my absolute best to catch up before The Last King of Faerie releases in November! TMI and TID (especially TID) are the books that shaped my childhood so it’s super exciting to be back in this beautiful world I find so much comfort in while knowing there’s still so much yet to experience 🤭💭 What is your favorite series in the Shadowhunter universe? by @madinotmaddiereads

Recent book mail 💌As someone that doesn’t usually get a lot of publisher mail, I have no clue what happened this past month 😃 but my heart is so full of gratitude that these books are in my hands and I will treasure them deeply! I don’t typically email for galleys because more than likely, I’m able to read an E-arc through my bookseller job and am happy to just wait to buy a finished copy. But I tested out my luck emailing for a few I was *really* excited about this year and was so shocked when they showed up 😭 I cried unboxing Let’s Kiss and Tell (Joss has that very flattering pic to prove it lol) Yay for more books and apologies to my fiance for…well, more books (😜)All my thanks to these wonderful publishing houses for the galleys and finished copies! @littlebrown @gallerybooks @readrequited @dellromance @fsgbooks @readforeverpub @stmartinspress @thedialpress And to my friends at @lavenderbookshop I adore you with my heart & soul and appreciate you so much for thinking of me 🪻 Local friends, tlb is Georgia’s queer only bookstore and a lovely part of our bookstore community! mid year freak out tag 🪐✨💜🏹what do you mean, we’re over halfway through the year 🧍🏻‍♀️ no because actually, what do you MEAN 😃⁉️ 2026 is flying by and before the second half whisks us away, here’s a little recap of q1 & q2 reading stats. i’m reading a little slower compared to last year but yknow what, i’m living, loving and appreciating that there are more things bringing me joy this year (bts being back means all the content to consume hehehe). not setting a reading goal has helped take the pressure off and really lean into the books i’m most excited about and at my current pace, i’m predicting to finish out the year at around 150 books…hmm, we shall see 😜there’s so much to look forward to in the coming months and the biggest one on my mind is finally finishing my Shadowhunters reread in time for the last king of faerie’s release in november…i have at least 10 books’ worth of lore to catch up on so send good vibes for that lol 😅let me know if we share any of the same favs of the year so far and what you’re most looking forward to in the second half of 2026! xoxo,madison 💌 by @madinotmaddiereads

Everyone’s finally home 🪽⚔️➰A few years ago, I started a mission of collecting all the original hardback editions of the Shadowhunter universe—the same ones I read growing up and it’s taken *this* long to track them all down. For about two of those four-ish years, I was missing one very elusive hardcover copy of Chain of Gold and the hunt became so desperate that nearly every bookseller in my city knew about it and I even enlisted the help of friends on their travels to out of state bookstores…lol ty, everyone 🫶🏻“But, Madison, you probably could have just found a copy online.” So true, besties. However, I had found every other book in the series floating on random shelves in the wild and there was something kind of beautiful about the thought of spotting this one organically rather than relying on the internet. Call me old fashioned, but the feeling of pulling this off the shelf yesterday was unmatched and for that, it was well worth the wait. How poetic to find my last copy needed to complete the collection only a few months before the last Shadowhunter trilogy commences ✨I talk about my love for this series so very often on this page so you guys know exactly how much it means to have them all together at long last 🖤Reading prep for The Wicked Powers starts so very soon ~ @cassieclare1 💭 Do you have a favorite book/series that you’ll always hold close to your heart? by @madinotmaddiereads

but every book that i read makes me cry 📖💧💌this trend is so fun! i think i saw @haileesbooks do this first 💛 first slide edits were inspired by @micheleisbooked and my girl @bookish.joo inspired me to share some songs that hit me just right in the feels ✨it takes a lot to make me cry honestly so these books, movies/shows and songs are very near and dear to my heart. i’ll never forget reading the nightingale back in 2021 when i had just gotten back into reading and god, i thought i was going to drown in my own tears :’) excited to reread this before the movie releases! i wanted to include some kdramas that have made me cry since i’ve been on a really big kdrama roll lately (i have been on this kick for years but shhhhh 🤫) so consider slide three my kdrama hall of fame! 20th century girl & a taxi driver are technically movies but if you’ve been looking to try out some korean tv media, these all come with my gold stamp of approval and a cautionary note to bring tissues…especially for mr. plankton. it’s been two years and i still haven’t recovered 🥹i think most of the songs i included are pretty self explanatory lol 😅 idk if i shared this on here yet but i’m seeing noah kahan next month (!!!) and the thought of potentially hearing willing and able in person makes me physically ill 😃👍🏻 let me know if we share any of the same books that make us feel in all the right ways or if you’re adding anything to your tbr/watch list! xoxo,madinotmaddie by @madinotmaddiereads

Tropesick: A Love Story by @laurenokieauthor | 5💫(A spoiler free review 💗) ~ Thank you to @avonbooks for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of an ultimate new favorite! Happiest pub day to this beauty of a book— a book that recklessly defies all one can expect from the romance genre in the most magical way and left me completely speechless!Lauren did something truly amazing with Katie & Tyler’s story. Theirs is one that aches and burns and chews at your soul in a way that makes your stomach flutter and arms erupt in shivers. These characters were written with such perfect depth that it is SHAMEFUL they’re not real people. I felt every sparkling emotion and complicated frustration with such a strong tug that it was impossible to put this book down without the irresistible urge to turn the next page for the hope of even more feeling. Both Katie & Tyler were so deeply relatable to me in their hurts and traumas but mostly Katie for the way she chose to still see the glitter in the world. My rose colored glasses girl, may your light never dim. If you are the type of reader that specifically looks for yearning and high levels of angst, this is THE book to pick up. My best recommendation is to go in blind and let the magic sweep you away. I’d also recommend this book to anyone who considers themself a romance skeptic and may shy away from a genre that’s been seemingly “tropeified.” May I urge you to pick up Tropesick as it addresses this topic in such a brilliant and cheeky way while in no way compromising the integrity of a true love story. pride month hopefuls & some recs to celebrate 🥀📖🕯️happy pride, lovely people! i wanted to highlight some of the books i’ll be prioritizing this month as well as some favorites of mine with a cutie lil reminder that it doesn’t have to be just one month out of the year when you read them 😜celebrating stories like these is something that carries a lot of meaning for me as someone that grew up in a very strict & religious household. a lot of bias was taught in how i was meant to view the world and the beautiful people in it and i’m sure others with the same upbringing as i did can probably relate to that. thankfully, i picked up a series at 15 that would quite literally radicalize me and yes, i do mean those cassie clare books i’m always yapping about…alec and magnus were the first queer characters i ever read about that got their deserved happy ending and life got a little more colorful after that, if you get my meaning :’)i hope this month brings so much joy to my friends in the community. be you and be proud of that! i’m so glad you’re here 🫶🏻and to the authors mentioned in this post, thank you for celebrating the beauty of identity with your words. queer voices in our stories matter, now more than ever and i’m so grateful you’re the ones putting them out into the world ✨ BE GAY DO CRIME LOVE YA BYE 😘let me know if you’ve read any of these or if you’re adding any to your tbrs! by @madinotmaddiereads

may diaries 💐🧺🍰🍵💗this last month was a whirlwind of so many good things! i said yes to going places instead of snoozing away my off days, put my phone down and spent time outside before it gets too outrageously hot where i live and the sunshine has been feeling so so good ☀️ if last month was my slowest reading month, May was definitely my biggest with 14 books read! ya girl rly said zoom this month 🏃🏻‍♀️💨 my formats:📖 physical ~ 3📱ebook ~ 5🎧 audio ~ 6i would like to thank @laurenokieauthor for obliterating my soul with tropesick…i have not been able to stop thinking about this brilliant book that had me sobbing into a pillow at 1am 😃 i have a full review coming but for now, just know that this is my book of the year! lauren, your brain!? unreal and what a masterpiece! ty for the arc @avonbooks 💗at the beginning of this year i said i wanted to watch my more movies and let’s just say my letterbox has been a very busy girl these last few weeks 😜 i also DNFd the last season of euphoria after ep4 because honestly…no lol 🫶🏻but thank god for my royal nemesis and the wrist kiss felt around the world 😩 @noelia.reads and i are suffering waiting for new episodes to drop this weekend :’)cheers to a beautiful month of saying yes, good books, and making sweet memories 💌(new core memory unlocked: texts from @jennas.bookclub at all hours of the day while she’s reading the Shadowhunter series 😭 what a journey it’s been so far lol) stay tuned for a lil June tbr and in the meantime, happy Pride!!! be gay, do crime ily!!!! ✨ by @madinotmaddiereads
