This project taught me a lot. It was ambitious, last-minute, and pushed me outside my comfort zone, but I’m proud of how it came together. Big thanks to everyone who trusted the vision and helped bring this world to life. Slowed down, dressed up, completely alone.A toast to solitude, the kind that’s soft, sacred, and entirely our own.There are moments we dress up for no one, pour a drink for ourselves, and revel in our own company.This is a love letter to the quiet indulgence of being with yourself. For my bird shoot, things definitely didn’t go as planned. I originally set up outside with a white seamless backdrop, but the wind had other ideas—blew through and completely destroyed it. I thought about just staying in the same spot and shooting with only sky, but that would’ve meant a lot of awkward angles on the ground.Instead, I shifted the whole setup over to a garage area. Not ideal, but it gave me a clean white backdrop and just enough space to make it work. Sometimes it’s less about forcing perfect conditions and more about adapting with what you’ve got.I love that this shoot even came together in the first place—all because I saw a story on Davin’s Instagram and felt this pull to make it happen. I’ve been wanting to bring animals into my work more and more. I absolutely love animals, and getting the chance to work with not one, but two stunning macaws was unforgettable.I’m so glad Garrett introduced me to Lauren—it’s her bird, Floripa (Flo), who was such a dream to photograph. We also had a special guest, Klono, the green macaw, who joined us thanks to Lauren’s neighbor. It was such a gift to have two handlers on site and such a calm, welcoming space to shoot. Huge thanks to Lauren for letting us come out to her property and create something magical.Also loved that I didn’t need to worry one bit about makeup. I just asked Lainie to do her magic—and she absolutely delivered.
