Thank you powerlifting, that’s all I can really say. After almost 5 years, 5 national competitions, and all the ups and downs I am forever so grateful to have something so hard to say goodbye to. Not only have I grown so much from this sport but I have also met so many amazing people and have been given so many incredible opportunities. While this CNats prep didn’t exactly go to plan getting food poisoning two weeks out and not being in the gym for six months, I am just grateful to have had such a fun and successful meet! While this was my last CNats and there will be a break for a little bit, this isn’t necessarily goodbye forever.

As always thank you to my amazing parents for always supporting me no matter what. Whether it was all the long drives or flights or waiting for me to get a workout in, they’ve never doubted for giving me. My team @badgerpowerlifting for giving me the opportunities and support, and the spotters/loaders for keeping all the athletes safe and cheering on every lifter. Also, @jessop.powerlifting for helping me get yet another 3-peat perfect meet, we just can’t seem to get a red light together. Most importantly I thank the all powerful God everyday that gives me the strength and ability everyday to be able to compete in this sport. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without him and I can’t wait to see what this next chapter has in store! taken in New Orleans, Louisiana by @madison_gingras

This post may be a couple days late but no post will ever fully to be able to explain the amount of gratitude I have for this sport. While this sport brings me so much joy it never fails to test me. I started prep planning to cut down to 70kg but 2 weeks out I changed my mind. It is hard having to switch your mindset of cutting weight to you need to start eating more again. Then balancing being a full time college student 4 weeks before finals as well as having the biggest self doubts i’ve ever had. This prep was nothing but easy. However I never let that affect my determination to go big in this sport. I can’t wait to see what comes as I grow into this new weight class.

As always thank you to my amazing parents for never doubting me. My team @badgerpowerlifting for giving me this opportunity and @jessop.powerlifting for yet again having faith in me. The spotters and loaders and everyone at @usapowerlifting for keeping the athletes safe but also encouraging every lifter. Most importantly the God that gives me the strength and ability everyday to be able to compete in this sport. taken in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma by @madison_gingras

BW: 65.85kg (144.8lbs)

Not going to lie I have been putting off making this post all day because I cannot believe this prep is over. This is my best meet I have ever had. I came into today wanting to hit some PR’s and hopefully go 9/9 but most importantly have fun. After the longest prep with the most adversity and this meet being the only thing on my mind for 8 months I was able to come and do what I love to do. From starting my cut in May and cutting almost 20lbs to the busiest summer ever we did what we came to do.

I am so incredibly grateful that I was able to have this amazing opportunity and I couldn’t be more grateful for all the incredible support. My parents have never failed to support me in anyway possible and they will always be my biggest fans. I want to say thank you to my amazing handler @jessop.powerlifting for having so much faith in me. As well as all my incredible teammates that have made me cherish this sport so much more. Finally, the biggest thanks to God because I would not have been able to do what I did today and do this whole prep without his power. We are just getting started and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for me in this beautiful sport that holds a piece of my heart. taken in Salt Lake City, Utah by @madison_gingras
