An outward expression of an inward change.

I lived my life for years without a care in the word, suppressing all of my emotions and inner thoughts. I simply just existed and knew nothing about myself or the world.

Post college life hit me where I was forced to start thinking about real things, and that’s when the anxiety and fear of the future entered my mind. As much as I faked it I had no real confidence in myself, I thought I was stupid and would never amount to much because of my mistakes. I turned to the world to distract myself in any way possible to avoid facing these thoughts. I looked to others for validation, to social media, to the clubs & alcohol, but when the short term dopamine hits ended I still felt as lost as ever.

To make a long story short I finally found my identity in being a servant of Christ. All of my struggles slowly lifted as chains were broken off of me, and for the first time I felt true peace inside my own mind. The way I looked at the world started changing, and in turn the way I lived my life started to change.

I literally starting feeling like a kid again with the genuine joy and excitement I gained for life, all because the Lord took my heart of stone and replaced it with a heart of flesh. I became unashamed of myself and started gaining a confidence that could only be from God.

I’ve experienced the difference of who I was before and after my faith, and for that reason alone the truth is undeniable to me.

The greatest thank you to @jaydonsjohnson who led me into this journey, by simply showing me the goodness of God through his own actions. I’m so proud of you and what God is doing in your life. Another thank you to anyone who has ever spoken into me, encouraged me, or prayed for me along the way.

Love others, give grace, have mercy, and don’t hold people to their past mistakes. This is the way God treats us, and the way we should all aim to treat one another.

Our precious, handsome, silly Mister Ollie ❤️

Barely two months into us dating Jaydon proposed the idea of getting a cat for me. Then on New Year’s Eve we drove to Ohio in a rainstorm to see some kitties. On our way there we passed a car with a license plate that said “Ollie” and honestly knew it was meant to be. We left that night with a little thumbed kitty covered in fleas, and he instantly became the center of our lives. I like to tell people Jaydon “cat trapped me”… and clearly it worked.

A couple of days after we got engaged Ollie became unexplainably sick, and we did everything we could to help our buddy get better. He decided his time here with us was over, much sooner than we ever planned. It’s heartbreaking, but we trust he’s in a much much better place, probably running around chasing birdies.

Ollie was so special, and I think anyone who’s met him would agree he was truly the best cat ever. He brought us endless joy, and taught us more about love and life than you could probably imagine. We love you always Ollie. ❤️ by @madison_klineee
