✨ What an incredible experience being the very first customers through the doors at the new TileBar showroom near Americana Manhasset on Grand Opening Day! ✨As an interior designer, I can honestly say this is one of the most beautiful tile showrooms I’ve ever visited. Two stunning floors filled with luxurious, high-end selections, inspiring displays, and every tile imaginable.Today, my client and I were searching for the perfect materials for her dream primary bathroom—a serene, spa-inspired retreat featuring soft whites, warm creams, touches of gold, a soaking tub, a gorgeous shower, and separate vanity spaces.The experience was truly 10/10. From the incredible workstation setups where you can view pricing, calculate square footage, and visualize different options, to the amazing staff who made the entire process seamless, every detail was thoughtfully designed.A special thank you to Jon Tudisco and the entire TileBar team for making us feel so welcomed and giving us the opportunity to be part of such a special day. Waterproofing is the single most important and most invisible part of a bathroom renovationWhere? ✨Shower walls and floor — the entire shower enclosure, not just where water directly hits✨Behind the tile — water gets through grout and tile. Always waterproof the substrate, not just the surface.✨Shower pan / floor — this is where most leaks happen. Non-negotiable.✨Around the tub — especially at the tub-to-wall joint✨Wet areas beyond the shower — anywhere water splashes regularlyGet it wrong and you’re looking at mold, rot, structural damage, and a full redo. Moving pipes = major $$$✨Double vanity if the space allows (hello, resale value)💡 LIGHTING & VENTILATION✨Layer your lighting — vanity lights at face level, not overhead✨A good exhaust fan is non-negotiable. Moisture is the enemy.🛁 TUB VS. SHOWER✨Do you actually take baths?
