Introducing Ms. Remi Jani 🥹🤎🐾

A little side note that makes this extra special — I’ve actually been using Tanline Designs to fundraise for and donate to this shelter for years. I’ve gotten to support so many of their animals from afar, so it feels very full-circle that after all this time, I finally found my own little girl there too. 🥹

Adopted, because duh.

Adoption has always meant a lot to me. I know adopting isn’t the right choice for every person or every family, and this isn’t meant to shame anyone for how they found their dog. But for me, knowing there are already so many amazing animals waiting for homes made adoption feel like the obvious choice.

And I think there are a few things about rescue dogs that people sometimes forget:

♡ Dogs end up in shelters for SO many reasons that have nothing to do with them being “bad” dogs — moves, housing restrictions, financial hardship, unexpected litters, owners who can no longer care for them, and so much more.

♡ Puppies end up in shelters and rescues too! Adopting doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t know anything about your dog’s early life or that you can only adopt an older dog.

♡ A shelter dog isn’t automatically damaged, aggressive, or going to have behavioral problems. Just like any dog, they need patience, consistency, training, love, and time to adjust.

♡ When you adopt, you’re not only giving that animal a home — you’re also opening up space and resources for another animal who needs help.

I know I’m signing myself up for puppy chaos, training, accidents, chewed-up things and probably a few “what have I done” moments 😂 but I’m so excited to give this little girl a home and watch her become part of our family.
