4OJ recap!!! 🇺🇸❤️ by @madisonmboyd
1 year ago today I publicly declared my faith in Jesus through baptism! Water baptism beautifully depicts our identification as believers with the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is an outward demonstration of an inward regeneration of what Christ has already done in your heart. It symbolizes our death to the old life, with all that was ugly and ungodly being buried and washed by the blood of Jesus, and us being resurrected into a new life in Christ Jesus. Baptism does not save us, or contribute anything toward our salvation, but is an act of obedience to publicly exalt Jesus as your Lord and Savior to the world. I didn’t have any intentions of getting baptized that day but God had put it on my heart for over a year, I was just waiting for Him to tell me when. At the end of the service while worshipping, the Holy Spirit manifested His tangible presence in me and called me into the waters to take that next step of faith. After going under the water, I broke down in tears hysterically, the presence and peace of God was so real in that moment. June 29th, 2025 was a day I will never forget. To have my Dad there who has been my spiritual mentor made it extra special. It has been so sweet to reflect on this day and see all God has done in my life since. I’m so thankful for the people God has placed in my life and how He continues to shape, lead, and guide me into the woman He created me to be. I can’t wait to see where He leads me to next! All glory to God ❤️ “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.” Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ by @madisonmboyd
My testimony ✝️🤍 I was blessed to grow up in a Christian household and be raised by a dad who led my family spiritually by the way he modeled Christ for us. Although my faith was always a big part of my life, I didn’t know what it looked like to truly walk with Jesus. In high school I quickly fell into sin. In college things only got worse. I didn’t know who I was or my purpose so I searched for my identity in all the wrong places. I had no direction, fell into peer pressure, and blended in with the rest of the world. I never thought of the consequences of my actions and didn’t care if I hurt anyone or myself in the process. I was trying to find something to satisfy the deepest parts of my heart and nothing could fill that void. My sinful lifestyle eventually caught up to me and left me feeling empty, broken, unworthy, and lost. I was attending church regularly and reading my Bible but didn’t take the time to truly understand it. I lived one foot in with Jesus and one foot in with the world. If my circumstances were certain I was happy and life was fun. But when circumstances changed and I was unsure of my future I fell into deep depression and anxiety. This up and down cycle continued for years. I knew something had to change and I knew the answer had always been Jesus. By the Grace of God He pulled me from the darkest time of my life and called me home into His loving arms. I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to knowing Him and living for Him. 2 and 1/2 years ago I made the decision to fully surrender my life to Jesus. The last 2 and 1/2 years have been the most fulfilling years of my life. I quickly fell in love with the Word of God and it has become my foundation and my guide. It has truly transformed my heart and my desires. I have found my identity in Christ and Christ alone. I know who I am because I know who He is. In knowing Him, He continues to transform me into the image of His Son, Jesus, every single day. (Continued in comments) by @madisonmboyd
