Here is a walk around of ‘KA’ren 😈😈😈

Front end going to be big splitter, canards, and some fancy time attack bits!!

Side will have the exhaust RS500 style one side screamer the other 💪🏻 aero side skirts working into the rear wings

Rear of the car huge chassis mounted carbon spoiler with aggressive diffuser!

Inside will have all the electronic toys that @motorsportelectronics have to offer allowing me to do what I plan with the car and engine combo! @obpmotorsport pedal box most likely, @kirkeyracing seats and hydro handbrake because you know some days she going to need to go sideways to let the streets know she means business 😂🤣😈

@questmotorsport will be doing the mapping and getting the power fierce and angry using a @pulsarturbouk turbo something to suit what the KA is designed for 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Nothing much to say other than…

To get the car to this stage has taken an amount of work that is beyond insane, the hours/days/weeks/months, the places and the people that become part of the journey and the emotions along the way.

Just being able to move your car under its own power seems like a simple and really obvious thing but when you’ve lost your mind on a build as much as I have, sometimes you forget that it’s supposed to actually do that and not just stare at you in the garage sitting on 4 axle stands demanding investment lol

Being asked by @meguiarsuk to have the car in the newly built bay was just the icing on the cake and a challenge for us to get the motor done and there for but we made sure we made that happen 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 forever grateful to @tommyteapot @gr.nt_ @amyjc00kie and the whole Megs team for supporting that ❤️❤️❤️

So I’ve got a new project…

I’ve been a fan of the KA for a long time not obsessed like I am with the Focus or Escos but always looked at them and thought there’s a bit more to explore with that and could I build one hard enough that I’d want to drive and beast about in!

Over the years there’s been KA builds I’ve loved and followed on the one and only PF @turbosailorboy being a stand out with the Flymo beast he built and @garicottrill insane time attack that still impresses me to this day but looks wise I wanted something slightly different, more factory but also stupid!

Then I remembered the DJM KA from PF and some stories about that so got to the googles again and went deep.

Once I’d found the silver DJM KA I posted about a year ago and seeing the reaction to that I knew there was a direction that I could take a KA that would make it my own and also tick the boxes on the vision I had for it and me!

Then @twinenginecorsa featured that exact silver beast recently and then yesterday @fastfordmagazine posted the throw back to the epic motor Richie owns I knew this was the time to show you guys what’s been sitting on my driveway for almost a year now while I collect bits 😎😎😎

The plans for it are?! Well you guys guess 🤪 what would you like to see done with it?!? I’ll update in the next post I do on it and I’ve done a YouTube walk around to show just how wide it is and what I have planned so far!

One clue is @tubby010 has really influenced what I have planned for it…

The next episode requires the next level of thermal management and @zircotec stepped up to the plate to take on the challenge and provide a complete pre and post turbo solution to get the heat levels down as low as possible!

I have covered this in deep detail in my incredible latest YT 🤣😂 including what’s different and why the change over!

One thing that the 🦅 👀 of you will notice is all the pre turbo tubing and gate have now been ceramic coated before shielding (insulation) I found the temps before were still insane under the bonnet to the point I was considering going back to a metal bonnet and chopping bits out, so had one final Hail Mary go at it and with the ceramic heat reflecting sheet I can now touch the bonnet after a ‘expressive’ drive 🤗

So why did I do ceramic too? Well step into my office 🫱🏻 I’ve estimated that full chat kicking its teeth right down its throat the internal gas temps are ~1000degC, the exhaust is schd-10 pipe so thermal coefficient of that brings outside wall temp to ~800degC. So Thermohold Ceramic plasma welded speed of sound coating can reduce surface temp up to ~30% so my brain said ok worst case -25% off 800degC for us to start with in the bay (600deg external temp) then we insulate the mani which can reduce up to 85% of surface temp, so I played with -75% you know, keep expectations realistic which gave me a theoretical surface temp of 150degC 🤗🤗🤗 those numbers properly got my 🍆 swole so pulled the trigger! What temps do I actually see in the real world? Check out the latest YT and you will see my full run down 😇

The heat management on the focus now done and I promise you won’t hear anything more from me about it…maybe 🤣😂

I may have made some not so subtle hints over the past couple months about my other other project for when KAren is done so here she is!

This is Mindy the Mondy 😍 she’s a future project for later on when I’ve become a YT sensation and can afford some actual space to house the builds 😂🤣😂

I’ve always wanted to build mk1 fords but all for different reasons and purposes. The Focus was a dream car and a vision that I’m still creating, the KA is something I’ve loved since the PF days (DJM builds, Flymo etc) multiple builds on there etc and the idea of having complete freedom to build what I want and learn doing it while challenging myself to make it do things no KA should has always been on my mind!

But the Mondeo is a build I’ve always had in my head, the idea of having something I built as cool as a BTCC motor which, prove me wrong, nothing comes close in terms of cool proper motorsport shit, but modern in all ways, rwd and boosted gets my aubergine swole as much as my other builds! So here she is!

This is a long term build, she will be RWD, she will have a 4.0 BARRA, she will run the 8hp70 gearbox (thank you @rstaz28 )I have and she will be turbo’d. I have the very rare BTCC aero kit (thank you @dennerstephen ) for it so I can run 19” CL dymags just like the original! The rest will all be modern safety and modern electrics all @motorsportelectronics control and gearbox control.

I’m proper proper excited for it and to get started but Its in the background until KAren has been done or I have some space to actually build these things and not my driveway 🤣😂🤣

So there she is, I’ll do more updates as I collect bits but for now it’s all about Kazza girl and Rita Sue.

But so you know, that’s the plans, of course full YT content for the lot and I’ll discuss in due time the goals for the build but till then I hope you enjoyed that edit which took me waaaayyyy too fucking long 😂🤣

So does this stuff work? It’s nice to see all these coatings and sexy looking shielding and shit but none of it has any point if it doesn’t work, so I thought I would take my extremely well calibrated and expensive temperature sensor (my fingers) and see if this @zircotec Thermohold ceramic coating actually does anything!

I don’t do anything unless there is some real world or engineering benefit to what I’m doing! And as we know here I am 100% honest and open about my experiences and anything I do, nothing is secret and no one is safe so thought let’s see if this stuff is as good as they say it is.

As we all know by now I’m struggling with heat build up so everything I’m doing is to cut as much of that out as I can and bring that all under control! If it’s not helping it doesn’t have a place on the motor so this test absolutely proves it’s earned its place on the build 💜💪🏻💜💪🏻

What do you think gang? Want me to do any other tests?

I’m not often overly impressed with products etc but was pleasantly surprised this time which is always welcome 😇😇😇

The things we do to get what we think will be the best, most cinematic shot ever taken by someone in a badly lit single garage, only for it to turn out absolutely below average 🤣😂

But that’s what it takes to become a modern day Steven Spillonyaburg I guess 😜

I had fun doing this and in my head had this insanely dramatic slow motion b-roll footage of the new @zircotec exhaust system planned and it was going to be like a David Attenborough shot on the wild plains of the Serengeti but actually turned out pretty limp hahaha

I’ll show you in next weeks YT and you can be the judge but just thought this was funny to see how I got such incredible motion picture captures 🤣😂

Anyways car content coming Thursday and new YT upload Wednesday 6pm 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

@rollhardd went hard again as always and guess what…no rain this year 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

RH is always absolutely a date on the calendar you cannot miss and want your motor to be a part of! They say an event is all about the vibes and no one captures that better than the RH crew!

If you’ve been you know, if you haven’t you need to!

The level of motor at RH is exceptional, the people are excellent and the coffee exquisite!!!

Just look at it all laid out there like a dam charcuterie board selection of insanely beautifully engineered heat management!

So there’s some different options here and there are specific reasons why I have them!

Basically I have covered these reasons in close detail in my upcoming YT series starting tomorrow evening but basically anything with air flow, ceramic coating (plasma infused into the wall of the exhaust) will absolutely perform keeping the heat inside and a surface reduction of up to 33% so that side of the Focus is where I’ve designed air flow into the turbo (intake) area of the motor!

Now the beautifully shielded sections of the exhaust are for where it has to do the heavy lifting, little to no air flow areas and manage the heat fully, offering up to 80% surface reduction! Basically these dudes are genuine craftsmen highly skilled and bespoke make everything by hand to suit the complexity of our exhaust systems! The insulation material they use inside the inconel (yes actually inconel 😱) exterior is a actually a secret like they own the pattern and it is a seriously guarded material so obviously I asked multiple times and they didn’t drop their guard once so I know it’s not the silica needle mat I purchased off Temu for £12 a square meter 🤣😂

Anyways I’ll let the pics speak for themselves, to say I’m happy is an understatement, to say I’m impressed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail would be insulting the guys and what they do! This is insane and if you see me at @rollhardd this weekend come and have a close look at it all see what I’m saying 😇😇😇

I cannot thank the boys @zircotec enough for the help and I’ll be kicking its head right in soon so I’ll report back with my findings 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

While I was moving the cars about this week I thought it would be cool to scan old KAzza girl into the @carvatarofficial app and mark the start of the journey with her!

The reason I wanted KAren in the app makes it possible for me to refer back to the scan and viewer as I’m developing the project for images or angles I need when I’m developing the scope or designing specific areas of the layout etc!

Having the car in 3D on demand makes it so easy for me to quickly jump on the app get a screen image and then export into @adskfusion to work through a design concept etc which makes this such a useable powerful free app!!

I forgot to take specific pics of the KA I needed while I was out there messing about but actually the app removes backgrounds etc so I just took screenshots images of the Front/ Back and sides as it auto levels the car too so I have true level elevation views of the car ready for me to start working on the exterior design scope, to plan moulds and start finalising the end silhouette of the GT3 slayer 😜

Anyways it got me really excited for the project and one I can’t wait to start attacking in the coming weeks once I have buttoned up a few things on the Focus 😇😇😇

Hope you enjoyed me fucking about here but it’s true she has a longer wheelbase than a 997 GT3 for everyone who messaged saying it’s too short, it’ll never be stable blah blah blah just watch this space 😜😜😜
