My grandma was diagnosed with what we think is louie body dementia about a little over 2 years ago. She ended up moving to Georgia so she could be close to us while we help her fight this disease. My grandma was the most beautiful, kind, and loving soul I have ever met. She always showed so much love to everyone around her and she never had a mean bone in her body. She was my biggest role model. She fought this disease hard and kept fighting all the way until the end. She always cared about everyone so much and whenever she got the chance she would teach us about God. Her and I would dance and sing together and we would talk music all the time. She said I would be a superstar. On Monday we got the call that we needed to be there so we got there and she had started her transitioning phase. She wasn’t in pain and she fought so hard for three long days to be able to stay with us. She was able to mumble a little bit on Tuesday and told all of us that she loved us, gave us hugs, and eventually told us about the beautiful building she was seeing and how she was “already in Heaven”. I know she’s in a better place now but I miss her so much. She will forever be my biggest role model and my best friend. I love you to the moon and back grandma. Forever. To uncle John, my best friend, my home, my person. I will love you forever and always. It doesn’t feel real right now and I’m not sure what to say but I wanted to write a thank you. You were so kind and so caring and so selfless. You were there for everyone no matter who it was. You were always just a call away no matter what whether it was just to talk, or to rant about boys, or just to get a laugh on a bad day. You were always a shoulder to cry on no matter what and you cared so deeply for everyone. Thank you for helping me grow up and teaching me so many lessons that I will cherish forever. You helped so many people and you saved so many people. Thank you for being you and caring so deeply for everyone. Life is going to be really different without you not being just a phone call away. I’ll watch and go to every Seahawks game I can for you and make sure to cheer my loudest for you. You’ve taught me to love deeply, care deeply, and live every day to its fullest and I am forever grateful for you. I’m not sure what to do right now and how to continue on but I know it’s what you would want me to do. I love you forever uncle John. Thank you for being my best friend and my home.
