Can I get something off my chest? I hate how purposeless algorithm ‘art’ makes me feel - No love for the process, only lust for the end product.It makes me sad, so I’ll flip it to a positive to keep inspired; it makes me proud that I can do it all myself.‘Capturing fine details’ by typing prompts is not the same.Training an algorithm with a handful of pictures is not the same. Passing generated art off as ‘hand drawn’ or ‘uniquely designed’ for profit is shameless (…yes, I see you)I am good at this because I’ve put time (like, my entire life) into trying to be good. And I like creating because it is a rewarding, unique, time consuming, frustrating and flawed process. It is human. I will never not be passionate about championing for authentic human creativity over artificial. It’s not pretentious and it’s not gate keeping. Anyone can learn to draw or design without resorting to ai, it just takes time and discipline. Disagree? Inspired by the lives we lead alongside our furry shadows. Here’s what I see when I create portraits - not just a dog, or a photo, or a job. I see the quirky personalities, the family members and the connections you share that are like no other.
