📚 Book Review | Veetin Moolaiyil Oru Samayal Arai by ✍🏻 Ambai

Some books don't just tell stories; they make you look at life a little differently.

Veetin Moolaiyil Oru Samayal Arai is a collection of 11 short stories that explores unspoken pain, complicated human relationships, patriarchy, politics, and the struggles hidden in our everyday lives.

What struck me most is how these stories bring attention to suffering that often goes unnoticed — the pain we become so accustomed to that we forget to acknowledge it, and the feelings we struggle to put into words.

What makes this collection even more thought-provoking is that it goes beyond human experiences to include all living beings. Every life has its struggles, its moments of brokenness, and its own way of trying to rise again.

For me, this book is a reminder that not all pain is visible, not every struggle is expressed, and not every story gets heard.

A collection that makes you pause, reflect, and look beyond what is immediately visible. 🌿

📚 BOOK REVIEW | A Thousand Splendid Suns by @khosseini

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

What a masterpiece! This book completely broke my heart. 💔😭. This is the best book I've read this year

I loved Mariam and Laila so much, but Mariam will always have a special place in my heart.

She is an angel, and after reading her story, I have a whole new level of respect for women and everything they endure.

What touched me the most was the beautiful bond between Mariam and Laila. Their relationship slowly transforms into something so powerful—a bond of friendship, sisterhood and motherhood.

Khaled Hosseini beautifully captures the pain, sacrifices, resilience and love of women who refuse to give up despite everything life throws at them.

I was literally crying. What a writer. What a book. What a masterpiece. 🥹❤️

⭐ 5/5 — An absolute must-read!

📚 BOOK REVIEW | Dark Matter by @blakecrouch1
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.75/5

My second or third science-fiction read, and absolutely loved it! Dark Matter is a mind-bending science-fiction thriller with a fascinating concept of alternate realities and different versions of ourselves.

What I loved most was the incredibly fast pacing. The story just flies, keeping you hooked and eager to know what happens next.

A fantastic blend of science fiction, suspense and thrills. Absolutely loved it! ❤️

📖 BOOK REVIEW | A Man Called Ove by @backmansk

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

This book has my heart ♥️
I really, really loved this book.
It moved me to tears🥹

I went into A Man Called Ove expecting a story about a grumpy old man, but I came out of it feeling like I had met and understood a completely different person.

Ove may look rude, stubborn and irritated with the entire world on the outside, but slowly, Fredrik Backman lets us see the love, loneliness, grief and kindness hidden underneath him.
And that's what completely got me.

I loved watching Ove's relationship with the people around him slowly develop. The little moments, the unexpected friendships, the humour and the way these people slowly become part of his life made the story feel incredibly warm and human.

But underneath all that warmth is so much pain and loneliness. There were moments where I genuinely had to stop because the emotions hit me so hard.

What I loved most is that Backman doesn't make Ove's transformation feel sudden or unrealistic.

It happens through small acts of kindness, friendship and simply having people around who refuse to give up on him.

I laughed. I smiled. I got attached to these characters.

Fredrik Backman has such a beautiful way of taking an ordinary person's life and turning it into something deeply emotional, meaningful and unforgettable.

What a writer and What an emotional journey. ❤️

⭐ 5/5 — I really, really loved this book.

Some books you finish and move on from. Some books stay with you. A Man Called Ove is definitely the second kind. 🥹📖

BOOK REVIEW | White Nights by Fyodor Dostoevsky

5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A short book, but such a deep emotional experience.

White Nights completely touched me. What affected me most was the loneliness running through the story-the Dreamer and Nastenka, two lonely people who find comfort in each other and create a beautiful little world together, even if only for a short time.

I loved their conversations and the way they slowly opened up to each other. For the Dreamer, those few nights become something incredibly meaningful.

When he finally confesses his love and begins to hope, it feels like perhaps his loneliness is finally coming to an end.

But when the man Nastenka had been waiting for returns, everything changes.

What made the ending especially emotional for me was that I felt sad for both the Dreamer and Nastenka. The Dreamer is left heartbroken after opening his heart, while Nastenka is also caught in her own emotions and the love she has been waiting for.

Dostoevsky took such a simple story and made it feel deeply human, melancholic and unforgettable.

5/5 - Beautiful, emotional and heartbreaking.

📖 BOOK REVIEW | The Butcher by @jenniferhillierbooks

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

What a book! So dark, creepy, disgusting and absolutely awesome. 🔥

The Butcher was a completely different reading experience for me.

This was my first dark, gory, R-rated thriller, and Jennifer Hillier definitely did not hold back.

The book is raw, disturbing and seriously creepy, especially when it gets into the serial-killer and psychological details. Some scenes genuinely gave me chills.

The writing felt so visceral that you could almost feel the brutality of what was happening.

The beginning was a little slow for me because of all the setup, but once the story reached around the middle, the pace really picked up, and the second half pulled me in much more.

Enjoyed the fact that every character had a purpose, and nobody felt unnecessarily added to the story.

This was my first @jenniferhillierbooks
book, and what an introduction! 😮‍💨🔥.

Great work by her definitely gonna read her other books as well

If you're looking for something dark, creepy, raw, bloody and unapologetically R-rated, this book absolutely delivers.

⭐ 5/5 — Dark, disturbing, brutal and thoroughly gripping.

📖 BOOK REVIEW | The Hidden Pictures by @jasonrekulak

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

The Hidden Pictures was such a gripping and unique reading experience for me. Jason Rekulak blends psychological suspense with supernatural elements and slowly builds the tension until the final pages.

What made this book stand out for me was the way the drawings are woven into the story. They weren't just illustrations—they made the mystery feel much more immersive and added another layer of intrigue to the reading experience.

The story kept me questioning what was actually happening and who I could trust. The tension continues to build, and by the time you reach the final pages, everything becomes incredibly intense.

Honestly, this is one of those books I would recommend going into as spoiler-free as possible. The less you know, the better the experience.

🔥 Creepy, mysterious, immersive and completely gripping.

⭐ 5/5 — A thriller that genuinely made me question everyone.

📖 BOOK REVIEW | And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie @officialagathachristie

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

What a book! I was simply bamboozled. 🤯

I finally finished And Then There Were None, and honestly, what a reading experience! Agatha Christie completely had me in her hands.
The way the mystery keeps unfolding and makes you question what is actually happening was brilliant. I kept trying to figure things out, but Christie constantly stayed one step ahead of me.

And the craziest part? This book was written in 1939—long before I was even born! 😂 Yet the storytelling, mystery, suspense and way everything was put together still felt mind-blowing and outstanding to me.

It genuinely made me appreciate just how far ahead of her time Agatha Christie was.

🕵️‍♀️ Brilliantly crafted, atmospheric, suspenseful and unforgettable.

⭐ 5/5 — A solid 5 stars from me.

📖 BOOK REVIEW | Verity by Colleen Hoover

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

What a book! What a psychological thriller! 🔥

Verity is, for me, a perfect definition of a psychological thriller. I absolutely loved it!

What I loved most was how cleverly Colleen Hoover kept making me question what was real and what wasn't. Even the smaller details kept distracting me from the bigger picture.

The Verity manuscript completely shook me. I genuinely believed Verity was evil and couldn't understand how someone could do those things. And just when I thought everything was over, the letter behind the bed changed everything.

Suddenly, I was left with one huge question: Which one was true—the manuscript or the letter?
And honestly, I couldn't decide.

That's what made the ending so brilliant and haunting for me. I wanted the author to give me an answer so badly, but instead, she left me with that uncertainty. Even after finishing the book, that question stayed in my head.

The darkness, manipulation, unpredictability and psychological tension worked incredibly well.
I finished it thinking:
“What the hell did I just read?” 😂

I absolutely loved, loved, loved this book. ❤️

⭐ 5/5 — One of the most intense psychological thrillers I've read.

Best from @colleenhoover she killed it❤️

Can't wait for the movie😍😍😍
