Girard (3A, 16-4) senior Maddie Coester is making her final volleyball season one to remember. The outside hitter has already piled up 259 kills, averaging an impressive 5.8 per set, while hitting at a sharp .337 percentage. Her dominance at the net has helped her rank among the state leaders, and earlier this season she surpassed the 1,000 career kills milestone. But Coester’s success goes beyond the volleyball court. A rare four-sport standout, she has earned All-State honors in volleyball, basketball, and softball, while also competing in track. Girard stands at 16-4 on the year and is looking like a real contender in 3A. #sportsinkansas
