THANK YOU JESUS!

This past week, I had the incredible opportunity to serve in Pavas, Costa Rica, and I am truly grateful for the experience.

Working with the children is something that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Seeing their smiles, hearing their laughter, and watching them grow comfortable around us was the highlight of my week. Simply being able to be present and offer them friendship is a memory I will always carry with me.

I also really enjoyed being part of the painting project. It was especially meaningful to work while the kids were at school, as we were able to interact with them throughout the day and see the impact of what we were doing in real time.

I will always be thankful for the opportunity to serve in Pavas and be part of such a special community. This experience has truly changed me in ways I will never forget.

THANK YOU PAVAS

For most of my life, I lived in a cycle of partying, drinking, and searching for happiness in all the wrong places. The nights were long, the drinks were plenty, but the emptiness I felt inside never seemed to go away. I thought the next party, the next drink, the next high would fix things, but they never did. I kept thinking I was just one step away from feeling whole, but no matter how far I went, I was always left empty.
Eventually, the consequences started piling up—broken relationships, lost opportunities, and a deep sense of shame that I could no longer ignore. I reached a point where I couldn’t pretend anymore. I was tired of the chaos, the hangovers, the lies, and the endless search for something that could make me feel at peace. That’s when I hit rock bottom.
But even in my darkest moment, when I felt like there was no way out, I heard a whisper in my heart: “You don’t have to do this alone. There is a way out. There is hope.” It was in that moment I realized I needed to try something different. What I found was a love that I had never known—a love that wasn’t based on how good I was, but on how good He is. Jesus took me as I was—broken, lost, and addicted—and gave me a new hope. I started to read the Bible, pray, and slowly, the chains of addiction began to loosen. The peace I had been searching for wasn’t found in a drink or a party, but in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Today, I’m no longer the person I was. Jesus transformed my heart, gave me purpose, and freed me from the grip of addiction. I don’t know what the future holds, but I know that I’m never alone. I’ve found the joy, the peace, and the love I’d been looking for all along—right in the arms of Jesus.
i can proudly share that with this journey i made the next step of baptism. thank you to everyone who has been apart of my journey much love❤️ by @mads_johnson11
