on this day, june 12th 2026, i lost my old man. my macho man. watching you lay on that bed for days fighting for your life took my heart out of my chest. knowing it was coming does not make it any easier. you have a certain fight in you and i know you held on for as long as you could. your passing is truly the biggest heartbreak a girl could endure… every girl needs her daddy. damn old man, this one lit the world on fire. a kind man. A true protector and a true man. My daddy. im not sure what ill do without your jokes, the way you articulate every beat in songs. how everytime i see you youre downing an entire watermelon. your passing brought out the evil in some, but maddie, siddy and darrin got your back and we will go to hell and back for you. i am my father. my nose, my eyes, my height, my feet. the way i suppress my feelings. being a protector. my humor. the way my eyes water when im laughing.it comes from you dad. and that i will keep forever. i hope you know how important you were to so many people. i promise to hold my siblings down. i promise to keep them in check. ill take care of the family and ill always keep your name alive. i promise to do everything i said i would and make you proud. ill keep your spirit alive dad, you can live through me. as much as i’m happy because i know you’re safe in the hands of the lord and there will be no more suffering…. i’m also so devastated my kids wont have the blessing of getting to meet you, my aunt and uncle wont have their brother, but the worst is not having a dad anymore. by @madsshieldss

as much as this sport was always a mental battle for me, i cant say i didnt love it. ive met some of the greatest people and have had opportunities i didnt think id ever have growing up. to coach brunson, coach anyssa, and coach harris, thank you for always putting time into me. and to my teammates, i love you guys, you guys have become such a big part of my life and i wouldnt trade you guys for any other team. thank you guys for giving me something to look forward to everyday and putting a smile on my face regardless of my mood. #2⃣5⃣🏀 by @madsshieldss
