On September 16th, my sweet baby girl Scarlet crossed the rainbow bridge. It was so unexpected and she never showed any signs that she would leave us so soon. She was only a year and 5 months old, and I only had her for 11 months. October 18th would have been the anniversary of Scarlet coming into my life. She was so small but so full of life, she was the sweetest, most playful kitty I have ever met. She loved me and she loved Oliver so much. She was always there for me, greeting me at the door whenever I came home, & laying with me any time she got the chance. The day she passed, I luckily had the day off, it was just a normal day, she laid with me in bed as we watched movies and played with Oliver, everything was normal, until it wasn’t. I am going to cherish the short time we had and always question why we didn’t get more. She was just a chapter of my life but I was able to be her whole story and I couldn’t have been luckier to know her & be able to call her mine. It was so special & an honor to be her mama. As I type this with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart, I’m going to miss her so much… I can’t believe she is gone and I will always wonder why she was taken from me so soon. I will forever wish I got just one more day to hold my beautiful girl. But I do take comfort in knowing I gave her the best life and all the love I could give and she gave me just the same. She gave me the best memories, so much joy & all of her love. I hope one day, we will meet again, and she’ll be waiting for me to give her all the love & cuddles she deserves. I love and miss you so much my sweet girl, you’ll always be in my heart, forever and always, my Scarlet. 🌈🕊️🤍🐈 by @madstens
