When I designed this pattern to be tied up in two ways I didn’t realize how much I would actually tie it up both ways 🫣

Seriously every time I wear this skirt I’m loving the versatility of tying it as bows or belt buckles depending on my mood or the top I’m pairing it with! When I’m wanting something more frilly or feminine I use the bows, or when I’m wanting something more utilitarian I use the buckles. It’s made styling so much more fun haha

Just glad I’m out here still surprising myself 😅

When you grabbed THAT fabric from Joann 🪦 you have to make something special with it ✨

This is a sample of my Camille Chemise in the dress view. I love how fun this fabric is and this pattern really lets a good print shine! Rest in peace Joann, just sad every day I see more and more things being sold off to PI 😭 grateful for all the amazing small businesses keeping the fiber arts community so vibrant and wonderful 🫶🏼 by @madswick_studio

Sometimes you just need to stop everything and take a day…or week to bring an idea fully to life 🫠

If you haven’t noticed I have been a tad obsessed modifying my Carol Blouse pattern lately. It’s such a good base of a pattern and I have found really simple, but impactful modifications go such a long way.

I decided I needed to do it again by adding some pin tucks and removing the button placket. Honestly it was such a simple project, apart from the saga of trying to find the perfect pleated lace.

The Carol pattern was designed specifically for adding lace around the neckline and sleeves, but this way my first time using a lace that wasn’t flat to the pattern. Let’s just say it wasn’t the last time!

I feel like I blinked and so many of you have joined me in this little corner on the internet 🫶🏼 so I thought it was time I re-introduce myself and share somethings you might not know about me. I actually have a little bit of a personality outside of sewing 😅 by @madswick_studio

Every outfit benefits from a pop of red, but this outfit was made for a red cardi moment ✨

No serger needed ✔️

For this version I had less fabric than usual, so I shortened the length a few inches. I also added these cute rectangular sleeves (full tutorial for that if you are curious!) and then I omitted pockets (literally no fabric left!)

I also opted to just do the square neckline on both the front and back, instead of having a square neckline and v neck to alternate between. It gives me only 4 ways to wear it(tied in front, back and then I could tie it to the sides) but I love how it looks tied in front best with these sleeves, so I’m really happy with that decision.

It’s literally just a button on my machine, and a cute one at that!

I have loved incorporating decorative stitches in my sewing, I even wrote instructions for adding decorative stitches into my Rosamund (show here) and Beth blouse patterns ✨ by @madswick_studio

Can you believe I thrifted thus 100% linen!?

It was seriously the best find, and I had enough to make this blouse and a pair of matching shorts with it. I knew I wanted to use the pilgrim collar in the Rosamund blouse, but since it was such a plain color I wanted to add some subtle details to make it special.

So I used the scallop decorative stitch on my machine. I used the smaller version, I have 3 sizes programmed. I added the stitch around the collar, and the cuffs of the sleeves.

I also played with the subtle striped in the fabric and cut out the collar and cuffs in different directions. by @madswick_studio

Currently can’t get enough of wearing this skirt ✨

For this version I used a cotton linen blend with a cute simple floral print. I have tried making this skirt in a print before, but made the mistake of using a black fabric with little yellow flowers. Let’s just say I was slightly devastated when you couldn’t actually see any of the tucks I had sewn.

So this time I tried in a lighter fabric with a simple print. I’m really happy with how it worked out, and that I now have a Zamora skirt with a print!

I recently had somebody comment that this skirt fits a little differently from some Zamora skirt posts they have seen. About 5 months ago I updated the pattern to have more ease at the hips based on customer feedback 🫶🏼 by @madswick_studio

I have been rewatching Gilmore girls this fall, and as k was designing the Winnie Wrap skirt pattern I could t get a wool mini Winnie out of my head! I actually ordered this fabric online, but when I went up to Harmony for their anneversary celebration I had to find the bolt in the shop.

I believe this is a deadstock 100% wool and I love the herringbone weave. It has navy, tan, brown, and green in it. I can’t wait to pair it up with some tights and a chunky off white Rory inspired sweater as the weather cools down

I used a cotton poplin in a matching olive green for the facings and for the pockets and it made the inside so cute too! by @madswick_studio
