I recently sat down with @oad.dynasty, Co-Founder of Next Day Essentials ( @ndessentialsng ), on the sidelines of the Sync Ecosystem Mixer live.

We explored the realities of “buy now, pay later” for everyday essentials in Africa — the challenges, the gaps, and the bold solutions emerging to make groceries more accessible for millions.

From addressing affordability and cash flow pressures to rethinking how Africans access basic needs, Niyi shared compelling perspectives on what the future of consumer finance and retail could look like across the continent.

If you’re building, investing, or simply curious about Africa’s evolving fintech and commerce space, this is one conversation you don’t want to miss.

Many thanks to our sponsors @thepelicanlagos @theisle959

🎥 Full interview drops Fri, May 1st, 2026.

As of February 2025, the Nigerian music industry continues to thrive, with several artists achieving remarkable success in record sales, streaming numbers, awards, and overall impact.

Piggybacking off @temsbaby ’s big Grammy win and @ayrastarr ’s multiple win at the MOBO’s We decided to ask Chatgpt who the Top 5 Nigerian artists are at the moment.
Chat GPT’s response, was a hell of a surprise.

The big question, do you agree with it?

NB: We consider this inaccurate😂

Sabi Girl, @ayrastarr, won the MOBO Award for Best International Artist. She triumphed over heavyweights like Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Glorilla, Megan Thee Stallion, as well as fellow African stars such as Asake, Tems, and TYLA.

With this win, she joins Wizkid and Burna Boy as the only Nigerians to receive the prestigious award
