Yesterday, I was humbled to be recognized as Wellstar Health System’s 2025 Working Mother of the Year.
My daughter, family, coworkers, and colleagues surprised me with a celebration lunch. And in true ‘me’ fashion, it was Chick-fil-A. I’m grateful to be a part of Wellstar Health System, an organization that truly supports working parents. With benefits like back-up childcare, and free concierge and mental health services, they make it possible for families to thrive both at home and at work.
I truly believe I wouldn’t be in the position to receive this honor today without my mom, Christy Kovac. Her determination and work ethic, the way she rose to CEO, and the love she poured into my brother and me while balancing it all have been the greatest example I could ever ask for.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to my manager, Lisa Liedke, for the nomination, my incredible Wellstar Small TALK team for always supporting me and my crazy ideas, and my family and friends for walking alongside me in both the joys and challenges of motherhood.
This recognition is not just about me. I know so many incredible women were nominated, and I hope to one day learn their names and celebrate alongside them. Recently, my husband, Lars, reminded me of something that I think holds true for every mother. He said, ‘To Jeanie, you’ve been the mother of the year every single year and always will be.’ In the day-to-day trenches, it can be hard to remember that. That’s why being honored in this way means so much because it’s not only an affirmation of my journey, but also a reminder of the unseen strength and love that every mother carries. #workingmother #wellstarhealthsystem #wellstarcareers #thewellstardifference #smalltalk #peoplecare by @madykc3

Doing some brainstorming today and planning out my next projects for my printmaking business Kovac Carvings & Prints!

I want to make things you all would actually love, so I’m coming straight to the source.

What kind of products would you be most excited to see? Wall prints? Tote bags? Apparel? Stickers? What kinds of prints do you want to see? More Georgia? More nature? Throw your wildest ideas at me!

Hey everyone! I’m doing something a little out of my comfort zone and launching a small printmaking business, Kovac Carvings & Prints, on Friday, October 2nd!

A lot of people ask me what printmaking actually is. For me, I take a photo, do some magic on Canva, trace the design onto a linoleum block, carve the design by hand into the block, ink them, and hand-press them onto paper to create tangible art. Wow. Now that I’ve typed it all out it really does seem like quite the process. But I love every step!

I’ll be launching with a collection of finished prints inspired by Georgia scenery and themes 🍑🌳, a few seasonal offerings 🎄🤶, and I’ll also be taking custom orders 🏡🐶🌺 for anyone looking for personalized artwork.

In the meantime, please follow my business Instagram (@kovac_carvingsandprints) and Facebook (Kovac Carvings & Prints) pages to see behind-the-scenes carves and sneak peeks! 📸✨

Just a heads up that my Shopify store, the official website where you can purchase these prints, will go live on launch day, October 2nd. When that happens, I would be incredibly grateful if you could take a quick second to share the link! If you do share, it would mean the world if you added a small personal note about how you know me or your thoughts on my art. Your support and kind words mean the world to me. 🎉 by @madykc3
