fall 2024, i stood in my driveway with my parents after my youngest sons 3rd birthday party. they listened intently as i cried telling them about my raging anxiety, first ever panic attack, how scared i was, how unsure i was of what was happening in my life + body, how i didn’t recognize myself & how much fear had taken over my life. they had known i was struggling, but i got brutally honest with them that day about the severity. they hugged me & prayed over me & i went back to find that exact moment on our front door camera because it was the start of everything to come. a moment ill never forget.

my mom has always said that busy hands distract the mind. so she’s always encouraged me to get busy doing something when my mind starts to wander in fear. my dad is a wood worker, his dad was a ceramist & he’s always used the term “piddlin” for keeping his hands busy.

after the few years that had culminated to this point in my life of all our transitions, my husband & i agreed that i would stop working for a bit to focus on healing without pressure and stress of work. while it did remove pressure, it also left me with little to occupy my time and mind in a new city, without community + friends yet. my parents + i all agreed that i needed something to do. i had mentioned to them something fun, that required nothing but enjoyment. that i had always thought of pottery (more on that later).

my dad text me later that week offering to pay for pottery classes. i did some research in our area, found some classes & started a couple months later. join me in this reel as i embark on that adventure that would prove to be more than just “something fun” ✨✨✨ by @maeghaniris

I care most about helping others (and myself) live freely in whatever capacity it’s needed — mind, body or soul. we can experience freedom no matter the circumstance & freedom isn’t to be hoarded. we all have pain & trauma, but keeping it in does no one any favors. we’re about repairing and restoring what’s been broken or buried. by @maeghaniris

his only party request was to play a game of baseball with all his buddies and have all his fav things. while i watched them all just play for fun, i kept thinking how grateful i am to be here, in this city, raising our boys with these friends. he’s got such a good group 🥹 it’s the best being able to watch your kids grow up! grateful grateful grateful! by @maeghaniris

E I G H T ✨

he loves: baseball and all sports really, his friends/being with people/any kind of hang at any time, icecream, shake shack, traditions, chatting at bedtime, being cozy, the beach, being silly, cars & trucks, new shoes, baseball lifestyle

he does not love: long car rides, throw up, academics 🤪, serious convos, when mom gets emotional about him growing up, when his brother hits him, losing at any sport, not being where all his people are, when his baseball lifestyle isn’t washed & ready to wear 24/7, being rushed, any vegetable

not sure how we got to eight but it’s so fun watching your kids grow up and seeing more of who they are as humans in this world. when he was little and played independently, i would have never guessed he’d be a little extrovert of a kid…friend obsessed, always wanting to hang & have people over. we love you #judahhayes and are so proud of the tender little caring heart you have yet how tough and resilient you are to all of life’s challenges too! by @maeghaniris

16 hours in nashville to see @raylamontagne to cap @bentoncranford’s birthday week, a bucket list item for him. we learned nashville has a hotel that we will never ever recommend or forget 😮‍💨😬, some of the best food & one of fav venues. by @maeghaniris

happiest birthday to my fav human. those rays shining right down on him laying on the 18th hole today at the pga tour champ 🥹✨ it’s exactly what he is. a ray of light beaming in. I’ve said from the second time we hung out (bc let’s be honest, the first time we met was not it) that he had the hand of God on him & i had to be a part of it. thankful he chose me because life with him has been nothing short of fun, an adventure, and seeing the light. he’s a gift to us & the fav of the house. we love you b. you’ve carried so much on our behalf over these last few years, i hope this next one for you is full of that light. by @maeghaniris

after 3 years of living here, we are officially official marietta residents and homeowners. while not the journey i would have chosen or house i thought would be ours, that’s often how God works and i’ve learned to grip a little less 🤣

from thinking we were moving to phoenix 3 years ago to now owning our own home in marietta, i’m thrilled this chapter of transition is over, that we are no longer transplants & we can finally settle.

now let’s reno & make this home sweet home ours to move into next month ✨✨✨

first day of second grade ✨

this summer felt like it just lasted for one week. are they getting shorter or is time just fLyInGgGg. he still begged me to homeschool him & said he hated school but went happily & keeps hearing how amazing his teacher @2b_dorminey is which is making him excited & hopeful! have the best year buddy. be bold, be brave, be confident! #judahhayes by @maeghaniris
