“I want to evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity with my work. The glow of neon is very different from its LED equivalents, and more mesmerising,” shares Megan Foo (@maegzter), a neon artist. Megan is our #Prestige40Under40 2025 honouree. Read her story at the link in our bio.

Inspired by the Black Seadevil, a deep-sea anglerfish that uses a glowing lure to attract prey in the dark. 🐟✨

Some jellyfish actually glow in the dark, so naturally we had to make them in neon too 🪼✨ by @maegzter

(With glowing lines and quiet simplicity, the Green Moray Eel emerges as a discreet but powerful presence within the reef. This artwork uses light to reveal the beauty of a species often hidden from view.)

🖼️ Artwork Featured: Confrontation
(A master of camouflage, this species hunts by sensing the faint electric fields given off by its prey. Come face to face with this brilliant shark, reimagined in neon light. When confronted with danger, this species is known for its remarkable defense of inflating its body when threatened.)

Ever wondered how neon billboards were marketed in Singapore back in the day? Here’s a peek behind the scenes. 👀✨ by @maegzter

Singapore’s Undocumented Neon History, Part 2: neon's survival story is less romantic than you think (might have been electric feels though ;))

Most people associate Neon with the west or with Hong Kong, but it was actually part of Singapore's history too. So this August, I'll be spotlighting the quaint and curious history of Neon in Singapore by @maegzter

In the spirit of National Day, did you know Singapore once had its own neon-making scene that almost disappeared? 🇸🇬✨

Stay tuned this month as we trace its history.

P.S.: We're only able to trace the history of this beautiful craft thanks to the precious archives from SPH's NewspaperSG. Articles before 1956 are considered public domain and do not need a content license. by @maegzter

AI might be able to design neon, but only a craftsman can bring it to life. ✨ by @maegzter
