It’s official! Today, I was elected as pastor of Evangel Assembly of God in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Such an amazing group of people. Honored to have my family and our good friends, Joan & Al Daily in the house to watch the path of God unfold for our family. We begin this journey after the new year. We are grateful to all of our family and friends who have prayed for us throughout this journey! When God is in it, and you obey, the details all work out. Romans 8:28, for sure!

I blinked 😩. Time doesn’t wait. My two year old turns 20 today!!! He’s officially out of the teen years and headed into a new season. He has the best smile and although he may not say much, when he does, it’s something he wants to say! As a parent you hope that your children catch what you’re wanting to teach them. By the grace of God he has grown into the man that he is by listening and “catching” the words of wisdom we tried to plant in him. We always made sure he knew God is our source and to lean into His wisdom for his life’s decisions.

Happy birthday Benjamin we love you and pray for God’s hand to be over your life as you move into this next season! 🎉💙 by @maestrojbh

Greif is sneaky. You never know where it might show up. A fond memory or while making new one, it shows up often uninvited to a place that makes it not necessarily unwelcome, but uncomfortable.

This is our last picture together. Such a bittersweet memory. For a few hours, I had my mom back. But I knew the medicine wouldn’t last. Death would finally come. But we weren’t afraid. We knew the final score.

Many don’t want to sit in the discomfort. However, I think that’s where the beauty of remembering your loved one lies. Life is uncomfortable. Death is unpleasant.

But knowing that we have the Hope of Jesus, and an assured resurrection makes the uncomfortable bearable in this season.

Happy birthday Mom. I love you, and will see you again sometime soon. by @maestrojbh

In Deuteronomy, we see a promise that the Lord will go before the Israelites. Personally. His presence will go before them. We have a better promise, because we have the fulfillment of that promise with Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us. He came to live the life that we could not and to die the death that we deserved. But Jesus went a step further… HE ROSE AGAIN! In victory over sin and death! So, whatever you’re facing today, Jesus has overcome it. And because Jesus Rose from the dead, we can now have the blessed Holy Spirit live in us. God‘s presence… in us! Put your trust in Him, because He is the faithful One from the beginning. by @maestrojbh

As we conclude our time with the prophet Daniel, one truth stands above everything else: Daniel remained faithful because he knew who the real King is.

Kings rose and kings fell. Governments changed. Empires came and went. Daniel lost his homeland, his name was changed, and the world around him was constantly shifting—but his allegiance never changed.

Daniel knew that every earthly throne sits beneath a greater throne.

Governments may rise and fall. Kings and presidents may come and go. Cultures may change.

But King Jesus remains the same.

And the same King who sustained Daniel in Babylon is the King who calls us to faithful allegiance today. taken in Evangel Church by @maestrojbh

Jesus did not promise that we would never face the furnace.

He promised we would never face it alone.

In Daniel 3, the fire was real—but so was the presence of God. And the Gospel shows us why we can trust Him there: Jesus entered our suffering, died for our sin, and rose again.

Because He is alive, He is with us.

The furnace does not mean God is absent.

Jesus Christ is Lord—and He is with you in the fire.

There’s a familiar saying: whatever you’re full of is what spills out when life bumps you.

So the question is: What are you full of? Are you full of the Spirit of God, or are you full of the works of the flesh?

Daniel shows us that when we surrender not only our actions, but our attitudes to Jesus, even the bumps, pressures, and disruptions of this world can become opportunities to make Christ known.

The bump doesn’t create what’s inside you—it reveals it. And what it reveals can become your witness. by @maestrojbh

Whatever you feed grows stronger.

Feed the flesh, and the flesh gets louder.

Feed your spirit through prayer, Scripture, worship, fasting, and obedience—and your sensitivity to God grows.

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:24

What have you been feeding?

Starve what pulls you from Jesus.
Feed what draws you closer to Him. Join us at @evangelpa to journey with us!

Our culture is constantly trying to tell us who we are.

And sometimes, we give in—not because we’ve stopped believing, but because the identity the world offers seems easier, more acceptable, or even better.

But our identity cannot be rooted in what culture calls us. It must be rooted in Christ—regardless of the cost.

What people call you may change. What culture celebrates may change. But who you are in Christ does not.

If you’re looking for a community that will help you understand who God created and called you to be, we’d love for you to join us at @evangelpa.

Jesus loves you—and so do we. ❤️ taken in Evangel Church by @maestrojbh

In this season of grief and loss, I find myself once again in mourning. The closing of a place that brought direction, clarity, and purpose during a meaningful season of my life and ministry will close in a few weeks.

Today my heart is with the students and their families, the faculty, staff, administration, and the thousands of alumni whose lives were shaped by the University of Valley Forge. As a member of the faculty, I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the impact of this remarkable institution. For a time, my own sons also called UVF home, making this loss deeply personal for our family.

I will always be grateful for the opportunity to serve there—to invest in students and participate in the work of equipping men and women to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

While this chapter has come to an end, I remain confident that God’s work has not. Institutions may close, but the Kingdom of God continues to advance through the lives of those who have been shaped there. Whether you attended for one semester or earned your degree, you know that UVF was more than a campus—it was a community where God met people, called them, and prepared them for His purposes.

We grieve what has been lost. But we do not grieve without hope. I believe the seeds planted through the ministry of UVF will continue to bear fruit for generations to come, and I look forward with expectation to seeing how God will use this moment for His glory.

Wishing a very happy birthday to my favorite person. Celebrating double nickels this year, Claudia Lepore Harris continues to be a bright light for our family, our church, and our community. She is usually the one behind the camera, so I had to use a candid secret shot to capture her in a natural pose. (The rest are on her photo roll!)

Please join me in celebrating her today!

We love you, Claudia! by @maestrojbh

The last two months have been difficult, but with the Lord’s strength, guidance, and the love, thoughtfulness and prayers of family and friends, we are here in a place of peace. Sure the pain of loss rears its head but our Hope is secure knowing mom is home, healed and in that holy place where we will all meet someday. 🙌🏻

In the meantime we will cherish the memories of her but also the moments we have together to encourage one another while we wait with anticipation for what lies ahead. My life verse compels me to live this way…
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
