My dad said, if you take care of them, they will take care of you.

We did this for an ENTIRE HOUR. Maybe more.

Over 20 generations is on this shrine so we prayed, burned incense, and burned papers throughout the house inside and out. Out of my 11 cousins, my siblings, and a gazillion relatives, none have ever went back. Just my dad and me. This is my 3rd opportunity.

Never thought a day like this was ever possible. A priceless moment to be able to bring my dad and my kids together to pay respects to their ancestral home. by @mafamilyofficial

I called this poor and many of you said it’s luxury 😳

I thought this was bad. How bad was it for your family? I’m hearing a lot of your stories about your ancestral homes not having bricks for walls. Just mud. Others told me their home was a cave and had to walk through dangerous tight spaces to get inside.

My ancestors must’ve been well off with a 200 sq ft of space. Still no roof and no bathrooms but much better off than others. These big buildings had at least 10 people living in them at the same time. The houses are shared with other families. At least 5 people sleeping in what looks like a storage area held up by plywood. The shrines were also shared with at least 5 different families. When they passed, they would be buried in the backyard.

I’m grateful for the opportunity our ancestors gave us. The chance they took to leave their ancient cities for a better life. And eventually our grandparents and the generations before us, leaving this village worked out well. Shoutout to all of you in the U.S., Canada, Australia, UK, and Mexico. I hope you’re all doing well 🙏 by @mafamilyofficial

My dad escaped poverty in China and decades later, I returned with my wife and kids.

This was the main reason for us traveling to China. To go back to our village and show them how it all started.

A lot of you always ask why do I work so hard or why do I do so much? Because of this. Because we came from nothing.

This is one of the most important and meaningful vlogs I’ve ever uploaded on our YouTube channel. Thank you for being here throughout all these years. #linkinbio by @mafamilyofficial

They call this the CYBERPUNK shot.

We got lucky to walk by this on the way back to the hotel in Chongqing. This city is known for multi level streets and futuristic buildings. One of our car rides went through a hotel parking garage at street level, only to go up in circles that opened into another street level. There is no city like this city 🤯

I told the fam that if we didn’t make the 2 hour drive to this Hidden Wonder, I’d regret this the most during our trip to China.

Dazu Rock Carvings just outside of Chongqing was carved in the 7th century through the 13th century with over 75 caves and 50,000 statues 🤯

At the end of the site, there is a temple that’s thousands of years old. We burned incense, prayed, and thanked them with gratitude. When I got to the biggest and most protected shrine at the top, the energy was so intense that I started to cry. Immediately. Not just a little. Like actual sobbing 😳. It was an overwhelming feeling of gratitude and it was so strong that I tried to walk away and it stopped.

I prayed and let the shrine know that I was thankful for my life and my family. Thankful for allowing us to be there. Thankful for bringing my wife and kids to China and showing them where we’re from.

Man, what a crazy ass experience that was. Glad I vlogged what I could. Check out today’s new video up on YouTube. Freaking wild 😭 #linkinbio by @mafamilyofficial

📍Shanghai

Home of the xiaolongbaos. Definitely a great spot for first time travelers to China.

The only thing I wish it had more was historical landmarks. It did give us a nice break from all the sites we did go see before arriving to Shanghai. We visited during typhoon season and some days had rain, but I wouldn’t let a little rain bother you. It actually helped with the heat and it was less crowded. It was still 10/10! by @mafamilyofficial

This might be our favorite thing we did in China.

I asked ChatGPT what would I have looked like in the 80’s?

WAIITTT…I have that outfit! 😂😂😂 by @mafamilyofficial

We were left speechless after visiting the Terracotta Warriors. 🤯 new vlog on our YT #linkinbio

We took a 6 hour high speed train ride from Beijing to Xi’An and it was worth every second!

I came here 20 years ago and since then they have located so many more areas. They realized that they don’t want to uncover any more until they can figure out how to preserve the color on the statues. So much is gone as back in the dynasty days, color was made with plants, bone ash from animals, and food.

Xi’An is a beautiful city full of ancient history. It was once the capital of China. The slower pace and local lifestyle here was refreshing.
