🎉MathsHarmony – Rethinking Maths Anxiety Through Inclusive Design

Independent Service Design Project |

MathsHarmony is an independently led service design project I developed to address the widespread issue of maths anxiety among middle school students in India a challenge that affects over 82% of students in Classes 7–10 (Cuemath, 2023).

The project took place at GD Goenka World School, New Delhi, and was driven by deep 💫 ethnographic research, stakeholder interviews, and co-design sessions with educators, students, and parents.

💡 My goal was to explore how future-ready pedagogical tools can support neurodiverse learners, those requiring additional attention, and students often left behind by rigid curricula.

I designed solutions like:
🔹 MathsWiz – an adaptive quiz platform that builds student confidence
🔹 DiverseEd Workshops – training sessions for teachers to recognize and support different learning needs

Rooted in Design Justice, Narrative Epistemology, and Human-Centered Design, MathsHarmony aims to reshape how we engage with numeracy not just as a subject, but as a cultural shift towards resilience, empathy, and inclusion.

📍 Way-finding System – GD Goenka University

Role: Communication Designer/ System designer | Team Size: 3

This is one of the projects I’m most proud of💫. It brought together multiple design disciplines from environmental graphics to systems thinking and project management. I led the team, developed the graphics, and managed key aspects of the proposal and delivery, including business strategy and stakeholder management.

Commissioned by the university itself, we were given a real-world brief and access 🎉to institutional data and materials.

Our goal: improve navigation across the 60-acre campus for 50,000+ students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

🔍 We conducted on-ground research, mapped high-traffic decision nodes, and designed a modular signage system using precast concrete and aluminium-cut letters ensuring durability, clarity, and scalability.

This is my own personal interpretation of the brief and concepts that were later on pitched to the uni.

🎯 Impact
✔️ 50% increase in navigation efficiency
✔️ Reduced confusion at key intersections
✔️ Scalable, low-maintenance system
✔️ Completed within a ₹3–4L budget

A rewarding collaboration that turned insights into lasting change.
