The Cesar E. Chavez National Monument is very nice. I’m so glad I visited. Photo #6 is Maria Ybarra from United Farm Workers. She worked with Cesar Chavez in the National Farm Worker’s Association and later United Farm Workers. I made paper crafts with her and she told me great stories of her life as a farmworker. #genx #lifeover50 #urbanexplorer #cesarchaveznationalmonument taken in César E. Cesar Chavez co-founded United Farm Workers with Dolores Huerta. Yay! @nationalparkservice has a great service that teaches about all the great things about the United States. I had such a nice time here and the Park Rangers were friendly and helpful as were the Volunteers. #lifeover50 #genx #lifeafter50 #keenecalifornia taken in César E. This is the #richmondva State Capital amongst the lovely trees. This was a nice stroll. There were people sitting and enjoying the weather. There were not a lot of tourists so it was peaceful. genx #lifeover50 taken in Richmond State Capital by @magenta_cloud_watcher

I’m walking the State Capital grounds. This use to be the Confederate Capital. Back in 1999, General Lee statues were on every block of Richmond it seemed. They were most definitely all over the canal when it opened but the statues were torn down during the Communist uprising. taken in Richmond State Capital by @magenta_cloud_watcher
