The artist vs the art!
Thought I should reintroduce myself for 2025! Hi, I'm Maggie, a children's book illustrator and animator, and I love making whimsical art (with many frogs)

I’m so delighted to share this lil preview of The Meadow, written my me and illustrated by the astonishingly talented @maggie.draws.stuff. This book is closer to my heart than anything I’ve ever written. I hope others think it’s as special as I do. Coming in February from @_secondstory. by @maggie.draws.stuff

Thrilled to share that LIGHTS AT NIGHT is a @kidsbookcentre David Booth Children’s and Youth Poetry Award finalist! 💫

“In Lights at Night, Tasha Hilderman’s poetry gently guides the reader down a dimly lit path through the mysteries and wonders of various forms of nighttime light... Hilderman’s tale is rich with evocative language, exudes warmth and coziness, and offers a fresh addition to the bedtime story canon... Zeng illuminates Hilderman’s poetry with her captivating illustrations, providing plenty of her own mystery and wonder to help complete this spellbinding and cohesive book.”

@maggie.draws.stuff we are among such amazing finalists in this category! by @maggie.draws.stuff

A little behind-the-scenes look at the backgrounds of Le Magnifique 🔥🙌👌

From layout to colour, our BG team: @juliemormor @kaori_izumiya_art @maggie.draws.stuff @koleenart @clod_r @glooshky and Samuel Dube has been doing such beautiful work bringing the world of Keiko to life. There’s still more to come, but I wanted to share a glimpse of all the care, detail and hard work that has gone into these spaces so far.

A special shout-out to Julie Morvant @juliemormor , our Layout & BG Lead, for guiding the look and construction of the backgrounds, and @kaori_izumiya_art Kaori Izumiya, our Colour & BG Lead, for helping shape the colour and atmosphere of the film.
