The stats you want vs. the stats you should know🎗️

September is pediatric cancer awareness month, but the work doesn’t end today.

Thank you to everyone who followed along for the 7th annual CUREage Ride. We hope to see many new faces, and even more money raised next year as we push the needle to help fund critical research for better treatment options 💛 by @maggiefeikes

472 miles of riding and 18,642 feet of climbing for the kids 💛🎗️

I am so thankful for this incredible group of people I had the pleasure to ride with. Their dedication, determination and grit is incredible. We shared stories, tears (good and bad), a lot of Culvers meals, and a heck of a lot of miles together.

Saturday we were welcomed home to St. Charles by friends, family, and @calsangels recipients and families. We had the honor of being led into town by Michael, who at just the age of 12, has already had 5 relapses of HR Neuroblastoma.

Over the course of the 5 days, we heard from families, survivors, siblings, parents, and children themselves sharing the real and raw stories of their journey. These kids are incredibly tough and they deserve so much more than the treatment that is out there.

We rode every mile for these kids, and while our ride may be over, the fight for more research for pediatric cancer is far from it. For the ones that survived and made it through, they were given a second chance at life. But for the ones no longer with us, we’ll continue to share their story and advocate for a future with better treatments, better research, and fewer goodbyes.

And a huge thank you to everyone who has followed along, donated, and prayed over us this past week 🫶🏼 by @maggiefeikes

CUREage Ride Day Four Update 🎗️

Today was a tough one, with another 5,000+ feet of elevation after yesterday’s climbing day. Today we rode for Kevin, Blake, and Ky. Ky FaceTimed us this morning sharing her story, and her incredible positivity with us. Walking away with some advice, “nobody cares, work harder.”

Our day was a long one, with the fatigue well settled in by this point. This is nothing compared to what these kids have to face when they receive a diagnoses.

Tomorrow is our final day, and as we roll back into St. Charles, IL, we know the work is not over, and funds are still needed to continue to move the needle on pediatric cancer research.

CUREage Ride Day Three Update 🎗️

Today our riders took on 50 miles, with over 3,500ft of elevation, appropriately named our “climbing for the kids” day.

We kicked off the morning with a FaceTime call with Ashley, whose son, Jax, was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. On top of that, during his diagnosis, Ashley lost her husband to brain cancer. Her story and strength has inspired us, and while Jax is doing better, we’re praying that he’ll be ringing the bell here in the next few months.

We began the ride with a quick pit stop at @culvers headquarters before setting out for a brutal day of climbing. We are continuously inspired by the fight and resilience these kids have throughout their battle. Our legs may hurt, and energy may be low, but it’s nothing compared to what these kids have to face.

Our night ended with a fantastic recovery session from @hydralivemadisonwi before getting to FaceTime with Lexie and her mother. Lexie was the first success story and patient pioneer of the @calsangels Advanced Leukemia Clinical and Research Program at @luriechildrens

Tomorrow they face another 100+ mile day with even more climbing.

CUREage Ride Day Two Update 🎗️

The team completed back-to-back 100 mile days, putting in 105 miles today for Eloise, Austin, and Brady.

We started the morning with a FaceTime call from Eloise’s parents and heard the sad reality of cancer treatment options for children. Eloise was born with leukemia, fought and eventually beat cancer, but her body was compromised and passed from a lung infection just last month.

Starting the morning hearing from the families gives us our purpose as to why we do what we do.

We rode from East Troy, stopping in Waterloo, WI for lunch and a tour at @trekbikes headquarters. We then went on our way, wind at our backs, and climbing the first of a few brutal climbs over the next few days, ending the day with over 4,000ft of elevation.

We arrived here in Sauk City, where we then had the opportunity to hear from fellow rider, Brian King, who lost his son Austin (who we were riding for today) at the age of 13. We also got to hear from riders who are friends of Brady, as they shared his current battle and have joined this ride for him.

We’re reminded today that it’s a priveledge to be tired from the things we chose to do, because these kids never had a chance to choose. We ride for them, and to make up for the lack of federal funding for pediatric cancer.

We hope you’ll help us in our goal to bring better research and treatments to these kids so we don’t have to hear from any more families that had to say goodbye.

CUREage Ride Day One Update🎗️

Today we rode for Cal, Ava, Madi and Connor. We rolled out from @luriechildrens in Chicago, IL this morning, rode up the lakefront, had lunch with Connor and his family. He got to show off his ATV and escort us back on our way. We finished our 101 mile ride today in East Troy, WI.

Each day, we’re riding for the kids. Each day, we’re raising money to help fund research. And with only 4% of federal funding allocated to pediatric cancer research, we hope YOU will join US in being the missing 96%.

Our kids deserve more 💛🎗️

This September, @teamcalsangels is hitting the road for the 7th annual CUREage ride in an effort to bring hope to the families and children battling cancer.

This year, Team AGO is riding in memory of Ava Georgia Olson; a spunky, charismatic little girl who lost her battle with DIPG at just 9 years old. She was a daughter, a sister, a cousin and a friend.

We ride and we fundraise because children like Ava deserve more than 4% of federal cancer funding.

If you’re able to help join the fight, please consider donating at the link in our bio 🎗️
