to say i’m proud of you would be an understatement. i know i haven’t been there for every step of your journey with football, but i’m so grateful to be by your side as you step into this next chapter. going from dragging my friends to come with me to your games at anderson county because i was too scared to go alone, to being lucky enough to go to the same school as you and only having to drive a few minutes down the road to watch you play the game you love with your whole heart at finley, is the biggest blessing in itself. you are the most hardworking and determined person i know, and i pray every day that i can be even a little more like you.
the selfish part of me is going to miss you more than i can explain, but my excitement for everything ahead for you and us outweighs that by a million. even though i’ll basically be your neighbor in a couple of months, for now i’ll still miss the days we aren’t spending every second together—our late-night movie trips, driving way too far just to go to our favorite dinner spots, you making fun of me for my pronunciation while singing yb songs sittiny right beside me in my passenger seat, fishing, playing pickleball or even just sitting at the house for way too long trying to pick a movie that probably won’t even end up being that good. the drive to chattanooga will hopefully be as easy to memorize as the drive from oak ridge to ac, but this drive will become my new favorite because every time it will end with getting to see you. although being away from you after seeing you almost every day is going to be one of the hardest things i’ve ever had to do, i know our love and our faith, as individuals and as a couple, is stronger than any challenge we’ll face. i’m so excited for this next chapter and to be by your side through every part of it. i know you’re probably even more excited than i am because you get to play the game you love, but no matter what, i’m just thankful we get to do this together. i couldn’t be more proud of you boobie, and i’m counting down the minutes till i get to watch you do what you love at finley this fall.
