UPDATE ⬇️

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much I love helping families plan their Disney, Universal, cruise and other vacations. It’s truly my dream job - and that’s not changing!

As of this week, I’m no longer affiliated with Smart Moms Travel. The agency unexpectedly terminated over 70 of us - agents and leaders who poured our hearts into creating amazing vacations - through no fault of our own.

While this came as a huge shock, I’m focusing on what matters most: my clients and the joy I find in helping families make memories together. I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences, friendships, and clients I’ve had along the way.

Not all Universal Signature Collection hotels come with the same perks.

Universal Orlando Resort has five hotels in its Signature Collection and choosing the right one is about a lot more than deciding which room or pool you like best.

Some include Universal Express Unlimited.
One puts you right at Epic Universe.
Some offer water taxi transportation.
And each has a completely different atmosphere and vacation experience.

The five Signature Collection hotels are:

🇮🇹 Loews Portofino Bay Hotel
🎸 Hard Rock Hotel®
🌴 Loews Royal Pacific Resort
💦 Loews Sapphire Falls Resort
🌌 Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel

The important part? Only Portofino Bay, Hard Rock and Royal Pacific include Universal Express Unlimited at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. Sapphire Falls and Helios Grand do not.

Cabana Bay or Sapphire Falls?

Both put you inside the Universal Orlando Resort experience, but they can create two VERY different vacations.

🌈 Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort brings the fun with retro theming, two pool areas, a lazy river, family suites and convenient access to Universal Volcano Bay.

🌴 Loews Sapphire Falls Resort offers a more relaxed, tropical atmosphere with a resort-style pool, elevated dining options and one perk that can make a big difference after a long park day: water taxi transportation to CityWalk.

And here’s an important distinction to know before you choose:

Sapphire Falls is part of Universal’s Signature Collection, but it does NOT include complimentary Universal Express Unlimited. Cabana Bay doesn’t include it either.

So which should you book?

That depends on what matters most to YOUR vacation: budget, room type, transportation, resort atmosphere, pool time and how you plan to spend your park days.

Want more space on your Disneyland vacation without staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel?

Here’s a look inside a Resort View One Bedroom Suite at The Westin Anaheim Resort, a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel located near Disneyland Resort.

This suite sleeps up to 4 with a king bed and queen-size sleeper sofa, and having a separate bedroom and living area can be such a nice perk when you want a little extra room to spread out after a park day. ✨

The Westin Anaheim Resort is also an AAA Four Diamond hotel with an outdoor pool, multiple dining options, a fitness center and RISE Rooftop Lounge with panoramic views.

And location is a big part of the appeal - it’s about ½ to 1 mile from Disneyland Resort.

Disneyland has some really great off-property hotel options, and choosing the right one can come down to much more than just finding the lowest room rate. Location, room size, amenities and how your family travels all matter.
