NEW ARTIST COLOR COLLAB 🩵🌀🦋💙

What color is the space between here and there? Between the seen and unseen? If you ask our friend Rohini Moradi, she might tell you to tap into the Akasha.

@magicinclined is a musician, artist, author, mystic and longtime friend of Fat and the Moon. Inspired by her book “Tapping Into the Akasha” and her latest body of music, we dreamed up a color together that embodied the fertile ether.

Meet Akasha, a celestial, sheer blue made for glints and gleams of cerulean shimmer. Part highlighter, part eye color, Akasha can be swept across the high points of the face for an otherworldly glow, tapped onto lids for a wash of blue, or layered up for a full throttle blue lid.

Luminous, buildable, plastic free and mineral based adornment, because there is nothing to “make up” for.

Thank you, Rohini, for all you bring into the world.

TODAY IS THE DAY

My book Tapping into the Akasha is officially out in the world. I still can’t believe I get to say that.

This book holds so much of my story. Growing up in the only Hindu temple in Iran. The spiritual practices that shaped me. The grief that broke me open. And the remembering that everything we are searching for is already within us.

To celebrate, I revived my podcast for one special surprise episode and read a piece from the book.

If this podcast or anything I’ve shared over the years has ever meant something to you, it would mean the world to me if you grabbed a copy.

My little offering to the universe is here.

Tapping into the Akasha is out now. Link in bio. by @magicinclined

I can’t believe I’m actually saying this. My first single ever, Noctolucent Glow, is out today.

I feel electric. I feel emotional. I feel like I’m dreaming and wide awake at the same time.

This all began with my son Donovan, who became completely obsessed with clouds. He would make us stop everything just to take photos of them. He was fascinated by how they change, how they disappear, how nothing lasts. He kept reminding me in his own way to be present, to capture the moment, to feel it while it’s here.

At the same time, I had just finished writing my book Tapping Into the Akasha, and I had completed a music production program through Berklee College of Music. I was thinking deeply about sound and energy and memory. I wanted to create something you could feel as much as hear. Something that holds a moment the way light lives inside a photograph.

Clouds kept calling me back.

I went into @tiny.telephone with @ssspacemoth and we started experimenting in the most intuitive, playful way. Asking what does a cloud sound like. What does it feel like when something appears and dissolves. Trying to translate that into music.

Around that same time, I became completely obsessed with ambient music (it’s so rebellious!) and I found @erasedtapesrecords . I had the honor of interviewing @masayoshifujitavibraphone on my podcast and I was already deeply in love with his work. Through that world, I discovered @david.allred and instantly connected to his sound.

When I shared this idea with David, he didn’t just understand it, he expanded it. He added so much texture and color to the track, shaping it into something dimensional and alive.

And Masayoshi brought this grounding presence that ignites the imagination.

I am so humbled and honored to share this track with so many geniuses.

This is a dream collaboration for me. Truly. I can’t believe I’m even typing these words.

This project became something far beyond what I imagined. It feels like a captured moment. A living one.

It is out now. It is real. You know where to find it.

I can’t wait for you to hear it. 🤍

⚡️ IT'S ALIVE! ⚡️

Just in time for Halloween, Magic Inclined has clawed its way out of the grave, glitter first. 🪦

✨ And who better to raise the dead than the son of the man who gave us The Rocky Horror Picture Show?

@linus.obrien didn't coast on the legend. He went off and wrote his own. He DJed school discos at 14, then borrowed £500 to press a one-sided record and heard it on the radio the very next night. After that came techno, a record shop in Camden, and lives in Vancouver, Tokyo and LA.

Then he came home to the strangest story he knew and made Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror, a love letter to his dad and to every misfit who ever found family in a midnight movie.

What I love most is who he is. He's generous, he's very funny, and he's kind in the way only people who've been outsiders can be. Talking to him felt like being handed permission to be exactly who you are, fishnets and all. 🖤💗

Linus, thank you for your stories, your laugh, and your beautiful heart. You made the resurrection worth it.

🎬 Full episode on YouTube and 🎧 wherever you listen. Link in bio.

Follow @linus.obrien for news on his upcoming projects. You'll want a front-row seat.

Let's do the Time Warp again. 🦇

I’ve been thinking a lot about strength lately.

Over the last few months, I struggled pretty badly with my mental health, and I experienced firsthand what saying negative things to yourself over and over can actually do.

I wasn’t consciously trying to hurt myself. But I was.

I’m not telling you this because I figured it all out or because I suddenly have all the answers. Quite the opposite. I’m telling you because I learned something from being in it.

Have you ever read The Artist’s Way?

I know some people love it and some people hate it, but that’s neither here nor there. I love self-help books. Perhaps that’s why I wrote one 😅

One thing I’ve noticed is that anytime we make a big leap, we’re confronted with really deep parts of ourselves. Old fears. Old stories. Patterns we thought we had outgrown.

And to me, part of growing is being willing to look at what comes up instead of pretending we’re above it.

None of us are above it.

I learned that from watching my dad. He’s the best.

Years ago, after reading The Artist’s Way, I started doing morning pages. You wake up and write three pages of stream of consciousness. No editing. No judgment. I loved it because it taught me to just write.

But when I was in the deepest throes of my depression, I changed the practice.

I started each morning with:

“I am happy and grateful for…”

First, I would write something that was already true.

Then I started writing things I wished were true, as though they had already happened.

“I am happy and grateful for…”

And I would just keep going.

Something about doing this every morning began changing the way I spoke to myself. And slowly, the voice in my head stopped being quite so cruel.

This tiny practice has genuinely changed my life.

It hasn’t magically solved everything. I’m still growing. Still learning. Still catching myself in old patterns.

But I feel stronger.

And I can see the light at the end of the tunnel again.

I thought I’d share it in case someone else needs a small practice right now, too.

Three pages.

Start with “I am happy and grateful for…”

See where it takes you.

♥️ u. Have a beautiful day 💋🌹

📣 [ NEW EPISODE ALERT ] - Soulfull Sound Podcast episode 138: Rohini Moradi on Tapping Into The Akasha

What if you don't need another person to tell you what's true for you?

What if part of the journey is learning to trust the wisdom that's already within you?

My latest guest on the Soulfull Sound Podcast, Rohini Moradi, has such a beautifully grounded way of talking about intuition, consciousness and the Akasha.

And her journey into this work came through profound transformation.

After experiencing unimaginable grief, Rohini described herself as becoming a "puddle" and somehow having to make form out of water again.

But as she rebuilt herself, she began leaving things behind.

The masks.

The need to fit in.

The parts of herself that weren't really hers.

And from that journey came a deeper relationship with intuition, consciousness and eventually her work with the Akasha.

We explored what the Akasha actually means, how intuition communicates through the body, why stillness doesn't necessarily mean sitting still, and something I feel incredibly passionate about:

Learning to become your own navigation system.

One of my favourite things Rohini said was:

"There's only one of you in this world... so might as well live on full blast technicolor as yourself."

YES. ❤️

This is a beautiful conversation about grief and transformation, but also creativity, consciousness, intuition, self-trust and giving yourself permission to be fully YOU.

How interesting is it that, for so much of our lives, we are an accumulation of what we’ve been told we are… until one day we realize we get to tell ourselves?

And selective hearing can really get the best of us.

For most of my life, I heard all the ways I wasn’t enough.

Through media. Through the chatter of peers who couldn’t quite accept the foreign student. Through beauty standards, expectations, comparison, and all the tiny messages we absorb without even realizing we’re absorbing them.

And somehow, we tend to remember the cruel things more than the kind ones.

But here’s what I’m learning:

Other people’s perception of you is not reality.

Sometimes you will shine in a way that makes someone else uncomfortable. Sometimes people will project their own fears, insecurities, limitations, or ideas of who you should be onto you.

Your job isn’t to become smaller so they can feel bigger.

Your job is to keep shining. With love in your heart.

To keep creating.
To keep being strange.
To keep taking up space.
To keep becoming whoever the hell you want to become.

Because eventually you realize something kind of incredible:

You don’t have to spend the rest of your life being who the world told you that you were.

You get to tell yourself now.

So, in case nobody has told you today:

You are fabulous.
Keep that light bright.

I’m cheering for you. 🤍

All photos from a fabulous shoot with @gingerfphotography about two years ago. Ginger and I are about to collab again so I’m going through old photos and getting excited. She is so talented and I love what we create together. A gem of a human.

✨
I want to play
I want to create
I want to love fully without hesitation

But I feel small
Every time I do, I’m matched with the opposite

It’s as if the universe is constantly reminding me of the full spectrum that exists within one wish

So now,

I am playful
I am creative
I am love

Tune in to @kvmr_radio tomorrow (Wednesday) night from 8-10pm PDT
