Attention fans of Soca, Funk, Reggae, Boogie and Afrobeat!Offered here are 3 copies of Debbie Gaskin & Eternal Love Combo’s extremely limited release debut LP - one in each color! Available Now, Link in the comments. Debbie was born in Barbados where she absorbed the vibrant rhythms of soca, reggae and calypso. She started singing in local hotels later in life and began composing her own original music around the same time. She says her songs come to her fully formed, from a divine power. Recorded during her years residing in Toronto, Canada, this album is a wonderful, genre bending mix of all of Debbie’s lifelong musical influences. From Afrobeat on A1, Boogie on A2, Afro Latin on B1, Soca on B3 and straight up Reggae on B4, every track is a unique gift, and a welcome surprise. Each copy is pressed on translucent pink, green or gray vinyl with matching hand printed center labels and jacket. Jazz had landed! Swipe to sample a few of our favorites. Everything from this drop is listed on our website. Among the heat in the bins, the USSR stuff definitely stands out!Contrary to what many westerners believe, the Soviet Union had a lively and diverse musical scene. Western music was officially banned, but foreign radio broadcasts and smuggled bootlegs brought the sounds of soul, funk, rock and experimental jazz to soviet ears. Elements that would later be incorporated into original soviet compositions. Compared to the VIA bands (groups approved by the state to play songs with pro USSR lyrics) instrumental musicians had more freedom to create.
