I left my heart in Malawi 🇲🇼

It would have been impossible to visit Ubuntu and not feel an overwhelming amount of love. Love for the people, love for the project and love from God. Even in the most humble and dire of circumstances, God’s love prevails.

The word Ubuntu comes from an ancient African language meaning “I am because we are.” We learned the truth of that as strangers welcomed us into their homes, shared their stories with us, sang with us, prayed with us, cried with us. We became bonded to them by the love we felt for each other.

We saw miracles. We saw hope where we couldn’t imagine hope. We saw the power of prayer and of song. We saw countless smiles on kids faces as we drove past. We saw God’s hand in every aspect of this trip.

I fell in love with Malawi and the month I spent there will forever be imprinted on my heart as a reminder of God’s love for all His children.

2024 was the best year of my life! When I look back, all I feel is love and gratitude for such an incredible year! I visited 10 countries and 4 states, spent over four months of the year outside the country, met so many people who changed my life, graduated from college, saw miracles, had a lot of ups and a lot of downs and I loved every second of it! I’m so grateful for the things I learned and for the person that year has helped me become and can’t wait to see what 2025 has for me! by @magkargis
