Born in Jalisco, Mexico. She has studied for six years at the Glassell School of Art and completed an artist
residency at the Burren College of Art in Ireland in 2023. In 2025, her painting Memories for Majua received
an award at Lawndale Art Center’s The Big Show. She is a figurative artist whose painting practice explores
Latin American identity as a living, evolving force.

I created this animation based on my latest painting "When I return". I’ve always walked the line between physical reality and virtual advancement. When I discovered my passion for art, digital art immediately became a part of it, and there’s no way I’ll ever be able to separate myself from it. Telling a story through a painting is for those who are willing to listen to that story. Creating an animation, however, based on that same painting, adds a layer that connects us to the inevitable development of the technology we’ve brought into the world. I’m telling the very same story in two distinct ways: with the brush and with the technological device, both straight from my soul.

Esta animación la he hecho basada en mi última pintura "Cuando regrese". Siempre estuve entre la realidad y el avance virtual. Cuando encontré mi pasión por el arte, el arte digital se unió y no habrá manera de desligarme de él. Contar una historia con una pintura es para quien quiere escuchar la historia, crear una animación, sin embargo, basada en esa pintura añade una capa que nos conecta con el desarrollo inminente de la tecnología que hemos creado, cuento la misma historia de dos maneras distintas, con el pincel y con el dispositivo tecnológico, ambas desde mi alma.

AZIMUTH FUGUE — Diptych / Díptico, 2025

Exhibited at the Orton Gallery, Glassell School of Art, Houston, TX

Acrylic, thin washes, graphite, and garden earth on canvas

This diptych began unresolved. I returned to perspective and let it misbehave. A loose five-point grid became the spine while “buildings” rose and fell by accident and intent. I left the pencil scaffolding visible and worked in very thin washes so the math of the space could breathe: indigo, sepia, raw sienna, with a small flare of blue for light. To ground those airy layers, I pressed garden earth into the surface honest grit against delicate glazes. Exhibited at the Orton Gallery of Glassell School of Art, AZIMUTH FUGUE aligns orientation and counterpoint: a bearing you can walk, and voices of form layered to hold time and space for a moment.

A huge thank you to the Glassell School of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston for providing a space for this piece to be shared.

What an unforgettable journey! Being a part of The Big Show 2025 at Lawndale Art Center was an honor in itself. Seeing my art hanging in such a prestigious exhibition in Houston alongside so many talented creators was a dream come true.
I am beyond proud to share that my painting, “Memories for Majua,” was awarded the Juror’s Award! This recognition means the world to me and validates the countless hours of passion and dedication poured into this piece.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this artistic path, and a special thank you to the jurors and the team at Lawndale. This experience is a testament to the fact that with dedication and a little bit of hope, anything is possible. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Memories For Majua, 2023

Memories for Majua is a poignant meditation on grief, memory, time and the traces of human presence. The interior of a home is not just a physical place-it is a vessel of intimate memories, with each panel reflecting different times, moods, and rooms, emphasizing how memory is fragmented, layered and deeply tied to place. The work explores what remains of a person after they are gone-what objects, spaces, and silence reveal about our identities and those of our lost loved ones. The work is a visual elegy-not just for a person, but for the spaces we build, the lives we craft within them, and the echoes we leave behind.
