But whyyyyyyyyyyy?!?!?!?

Donations of arts and craft supplies is the main way we serve our mission of keeping things useful longer. Since opening in 2024, you all have contributed 65,000lbs of usable materials to creative reuse at Magpie…but receiving donations is only 1 step in keeping them useful.

We are taking September to process all the donations that we have stocked piled. Sorting, organizing, and filling shelves will be the main priority - so we have room to accept more donations in the future!

FAQ
1. Does that mean there won’t be any new stuff on the shelves in September?

🛒 There will definitely be lots of new stuff out! We will be stocking from a big pile of unprocessed donations. Still a great time to shop at Magpie.

2. Yikes! Sounds like a lot of work! How can I help?

💪 We have a donation processing night coming up on Aug 27, sign up to help out. Look for more donation processing nights coming up, or attend a Volunteer Orientation to get started as a regular volunteer.

3. When you start taking donations again, how do I know what you take?

🎨 We accept most arts & craft supplies, textiles & sewing supplies, floral, party, office & school. For a detailed list, look on the Donate Stuff page of magpiecreativereuse.org.

Are you still doing Fill-a-bag? 💰
….Yes! $25 for large, $10 for small. Half bag is half price. Fabric, yarn and jewelry is priced separately.

Can I drop off donations at those times too? 📦
…Yes! Bring your donations during open hours.

Are these your permanent hours? 🚪
…No! We hope to be open even more as our capacity to staff the store grows.

Is your new space all ready, like the vision board? 💫
…Come take a look! We had our Grand Opening March 7 & 8 and now we have expanded the store floor space even more!

Do you have bathrooms yet? 🚽
…Yes! We have two on the main level. The pipes are old however so please flush responsibly. #onlyTP

Is the warehouse cozy warm? Or crispy cool?❄️🔥
…. We have a heater and A/C but it’s always a little on the drafty/steamy side in our warehouse.

Are you starting classes in your workshop? ✂️
