✨🌍 It wasn’t just a festival. It felt like magic.

This September, Yekaterinburg became a meeting point for young people from around the world at the International Youth Festival 2026 — a space for dialogue, culture, creativity, new ideas and, most importantly, new connections.

Among the participants was Elina Weinkauf @elina_wkf a student at MAI’s School of Aircraft Engineering. For her, the festival was not simply a few days of events — it became an opportunity to meet people who quickly turned into friends:

“You can meet someone in five seconds and then spend the most memorable days together. I met people from around the world as we worked on projects, joined discussions, explored the city, went to concerts and shared countless conversations.

I attended the World Youth Festival in Sirius in 2024, and I loved it. This year’s program drew me in even more. Sergey Lavrov’s speech, the concerts and all the activities gave us so much to talk about. But what I’ll remember most is the people.

I reunited with friends I first met in Sochi two years ago and made new friends I now speak to every day. I’ve already travelled to Chelyabinsk with some of them, others came to study in Moscow, and I meet up with more friends in Germany. We’re even planning our next reunion in Madagascar!

On some days, I spoke English, German, Russian, Spanish and French. The languages got mixed up in my head, but that was part of the fun. Every conversation gave me energy and taught me something new.

The ability to connect with people from different countries is one of the most valuable skills we can learn. Be curious about other cultures, learn languages and make friends. We have so much in common when we take the time to understand one another.” ❤️ by @mai_global

🇷🇺🇻🇳 MAI showcased advanced technologies at the Russia–Vietnam Scientific Forum in Moscow.

On 9 September, Moscow Aviation Institute presented its latest developments at the forum “Cooperation in Strategic Technologies.”

Among the showcased projects were a cargo UAV tiltrotor with a payload capacity of over 500 kg, a tilting propulsion unit for unmanned aircraft, a space platform for radar Earth observation, and a CubeSat 6U satellite.

The forum also opened new opportunities for expanding scientific, educational and technological cooperation between MAI and Vietnamese partners. by @mai_global

🎓A new academic year has taken off at MAI!

On September 1, MAI welcomed its freshmen with one of the brightest traditions of the year — Knowledge Day.

International students representing 94 countries joined the traditional freshmen parade, proudly carrying the flags of their home countries and showing just how global the MAI community has become.

The day was filled with everything that makes student life at MAI special: aerospace technologies, student engineering projects, drone workshops, sports competitions, esports tournaments and plenty of opportunities to discover university clubs and activities.
And even the rain couldn’t stop the celebration! The evening ended with a big outdoor concert featuring Russian famous singers. by @mai_global

إنجاز جديد لطلبتنا ولبرنامج الدراسات المزدوجة في #جامعة_خليفة
ستة من طلبة هندسة الطيران والفضاء يشكلون أول دفعة تتخرج في برنامج الدرجات المزدوجة بين جامعة خليفة ومعهد موسكو للطيران، بعد أن أمضوا عامهم الأكاديمي الأخير في موسكو، حيث اكتسبوا خبرات أكاديمية وعملية ودولية متخصصة.
وهذا يترجم التزام جامعة خليفة بتوسيع فرص التعلم الدولي أمام طلبتها، وإعداد كفاءات مؤهلة للإسهام في تحقيق طموحات دولة الإمارات في مجالي الطيران والفضاء.

وفي سبتمبر المقبل، ينضم تسعة طلبة جدد إلى البرنامج ضمن دفعته الثانية، ليواصل البناء على نجاح دفعته الأولى.

A new milestone for our students and Khalifa University’s Dual Studies Program.

Six Aerospace Engineering students have become the first cohort to graduate from the KU–Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) Dual Degree Program, following their final academic year in Moscow and gaining specialized academic, practical and international experience.

The milestone reflects Khalifa University’s commitment to expanding international learning opportunities and developing talent equipped to contribute to the UAE’s ambitions in aviation, aerospace and space.

The journey continues this September, with nine students preparing to join the program’s second cohort.

On July 4, 2026, a solemn meeting was held at the Embassy of Russia in Malaysia between the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Malaysia, H.E. Nail M. Latypov, and the students of the Russian Aerospace Programme implemented by Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) and Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT), with the support of Majlis Amanah Rakyat.

During the ceremony, the students received diplomas confirming the successful completion of the three-year programme at UniKL MIAT. The graduates were also congratulated and received words of encouragement before starting a new stage of their education in Russia, where they will soon continue their studies at MAI.

For more than 20 years, MAI, UniKL MIAT and MARA have been successfully developing cooperation in the field of engineering education. Today, this partnership continues to grow stronger: for the first time, the programme is being implemented under a new “3+2” model, which includes three years of study at UniKL MIAT and two years at MAI.

Addressing the students, H.E. Nail M. Latypov congratulated them on the successful completion of the first stage of their studies, highlighted their strong academic achievements and emphasized that cooperation in education and engineering training is an important element of the strategic partnership between Russia and Malaysia.

🇷🇺 Иногда мечта требует гораздо больше, чем просто желания.

В 19 лет я одна переехала в Россию, не зная языка и никого вокруг. Было страшно. Были дни, когда хотелось всё бросить, были бессонные ночи, работа почти без выходных и учёба с раннего утра.

За этими фотографиями стоят не только улыбки. За ними — тысячи часов учёбы, работа, слёзы, сомнения и моменты, когда казалось, что сил больше не осталось.

Но каждый раз я выбирала идти дальше.

Сегодня я держу в руках свою выпускную квалификационную работу — результат нескольких лет труда, бессонных ночей и огромного количества усилий.

Это не просто работа. Это символ всего пути, который я прошла.

Спасибо всем, кто был рядом и верил в меня.

Мы справились. И это только начало. ❤️✈️

🇹🇷 Bazen bir hayal, sadece istemekten çok daha fazlasını ister.

19 yaşımda, dili bile bilmeden, tek başıma Rusya’ya taşındım. Çok korkuyordum. Vazgeçmek istediğim günler oldu; uykusuz geceler, iş ve okul arasında geçen yorucu yıllar yaşadım.

Bu fotoğrafların arkasında sadece gülümsemeler yok. Binlerce saat ders çalışmak, çalışmak, gözyaşları, şüpheler ve artık gücüm kalmadığını düşündüğüm anlar var.

Ama her seferinde devam etmeyi seçtim.

Bugün elimde tuttuğum bitirme tezi, yıllarca verdiğim emeğin, uykusuz gecelerin ve sabrın bir sonucu.

Bu sadece bir tez değil. Bu, geçtiğim bütün yolun bir sembolü.

A glimpse into the future — with our engineers ⚙️

For the past week, 23 MAI students have been gaining valuable experience at the International Youth Industrial Forum “Engineers of the Future.” During this time, they have immersed themselves in advanced technologies across 10 fields.

They explored the principles behind unmanned aerial and ground systems, tried their hand at designing space technology, learned how intelligent and biotechnical systems work, and much more. In each field, participants are preparing a project that they will present at the end of the forum.

And beyond the technical program, there has been plenty of fun too: they laughed together at the KVN (Russian abbreviation for the club of the cheerful and sharp-witted) comedy game, developed their leadership skills at the Rostec school, shone at the Miss Forum contest, and even took a prize-winning place in the gorodki (Russian folk sport) sports tournament 🏆

🚀 Admission to MAI Is Open!

The admission campaign for the 2026/27 academic year has already begun, and international applicants can now submit their documents.

At MAI, you can study in English and learn how to design aircraft, spacecraft, engines, and much more. The tuition fee for all English-medium programs is 500 000 RUB per year (around 6 750 USD).

📅 Applications are accepted from June 20 to September 30, but we strongly recommend applying as early as possible. This gives you enough time to complete the entrance exams, arrange your visa, and prepare for your move to Moscow.

📄 To apply, simply send us two PDF files:
• one PDF containing your passport page with personal information;
• one PDF containing your educational documents, namely your graduation certificate, transcript.

After reviewing your documents, we will guide you through every step of the process. Entrance exams are held online, and preparation materials are available for all applicants.

✨ From your first email to your arrival in Moscow, the MAI Admissions Office will support you every step of the way.
