It’s really crazy to sit back and think about how all of this started… Back in 2021, when COVID was at its peak and everything was shut down, life slowed all the way down. You couldn’t really go anywhere or do much, so most of us were just on our phones all day. But instead of just scrolling to pass time, I found myself going down a whole different lane. I was on Depop, Facebook Marketplace, and eBay for HOURS—searching, comparing, learning, and really paying attention to different pieces, styles, and what made something stand out. At the time, it wasn’t anything serious. It was just a hobby… something I genuinely enjoyed doing. I didn’t know it would turn into something like this. Then it turned into me spending hours—sometimes the whole day—at the bins or Goodwill, digging through racks, learning fabrics, brands, and details most people overlook. Even traveling just to hit different thrift stores, just to see what I could find. It wasn’t always easy, and it definitely took patience, but that’s really where I sharpened my eye and built my love for it even more. Slowly but surely, that “just a hobby” started turning into something way bigger. That’s how I ended up creating my brand, Second Blessings—turning overlooked pieces into something meaningful and giving them a second life. From picking pieces online… to long days thrifting… to building Second Blessings… to finally being able to bring everything together in real life. Being able to set up at Off Campus Vintage Market and actually showcase my finds, my style, and my vision was a full circle moment for me. Like this really came from nothing but time, consistency, and trusting what I liked. I just want to say I truly appreciate everybody who came out, showed love, supported, spoke to me, and even those who took inspiration or ideas from my booth. That means everything to me fr. Y’all don’t understand how much that motivates me to keep going and go even harder. Second Blessings just getting started… I got so much more coming 🫶🏾 by @maiacrain
