As the name suggests, I designed this dress for my own graduation. At the time, I was finishing my mathematics degree and feeling uncertain about the future. But while I wasn’t sure what life after university would look like, I knew exactly how I wanted to feel on graduation day - beautiful and comfortable. So I designed a dress. I created a silhouette that accentuated the waist and hips, and chose a length that complemented the proportions of my graduation robe. Knowing that most of the dress would be hidden beneath it, I added small details that could peek through, like a fluttering hem, contrasting binding and a sweetheart neckline. It means so much to me that the dress I made for myself during this time, can now be yours. I hope you love it as much as I do <3

I’ve spent the last few years refining one of my favourite designs: the Graduation Dress.
Along the way, I’ve made a few changes - a soft jersey lining for more structure, bust and back darts for a better fit, and adjustable cotton straps. It’s taken time to find the right fabrics and manufacturers to work with, but after a lot of sampling, I’m so excited to finally introduce my first ready-to-wear piece.

Hi :) it’s been a while
I was a little mia this past year. Not because I stopped making clothes - that’s something I couldn’t quit even if I tried. I just really let self criticism get the better of me and felt like nothing I made was good enough to share. Going into the new year, I want to actively fight against that voice and let myself share what I create 🥰
This is what I made this month: an off the shoulder, sheer top with batwing sleeves and a (subtly) pleated, sweetheart neckline. It’s loose fitting and made from 1 square metre of a non stretch chiffon. I added elastic at the back of the neckline so it stays in place while still letting you move comfortably <33 by @maiardourstudio
