It’s Back. Once a Year. Until It’s Gone.

The wait is over.

Our limited-edition Cast & Blast Roach River returns for its annual release, built for those crisp fall mornings when the day starts with rising trout and ends behind a bird dog.

Wrapped in hunter orange, accented with grouse-inspired wraps, and finished with our signature shotgun shell reel seat end cap, this rod is more than a fly rod—it’s a celebration of one of the greatest seasons of the year.

Available as a rod only or as a complete premium package, the Cast & Blast is designed to carry you from your first fall hatch to your last walk through the uplands.

Pre-orders open August 1. First shipments begin August 28, just in time for the heart of the Cast & Blast season.

Last year’s production sold out before summer was over. Once this year’s run is spoken for, it won’t return until next fall.

If the Cast & Blast tradition means something to you, don’t wait. Reserve yours beginning August 1 and make sure you’re ready when the leaves begin to turn.

Available in 4 wt, 5 wt, and 6 wt.

See you on the water… and in the cover.

Just steps outside the back door of Maine Fly Company sits the Bridge Street Dam on the Royal River in Yarmouth.

Built in 1870, the dam has been part of this community for more than 150 years. It helped power the mills that shaped Yarmouth’s industrial history and has become a familiar part of the river for generations.

Over the next several weeks, that view will begin to change.

Crews have started preparing for the removal of the Bridge Street Dam, marking the beginning of one of the most significant changes to the Royal River in generations.

As neighbors of the river, we’re fortunate to have a front-row seat to this historic moment. Our goal isn’t to take sides—we simply want to document the process, share what we see, and watch how this cherished stretch of the Royal River evolves over the coming months and years.

If you’re local, stop by and take a look. It’s not every day you get the chance to witness a river entering a new chapter of its history.

We’ll continue fishing the Royal River that flows behind our shop, documenting its transformation from the air and from the water, and sharing what we learn along the way.

Here’s to the next chapter of the Royal River.

Today, we celebrate a remarkable milestone.

After handcrafting more than 1,000 fly rods, Zoe Kinsella has officially earned the title of Senior Rod Smith at Maine Fly Company.

A thousand rods isn’t just a milestone—it’s a thousand opportunities to get it right. Every rod represents hours of focus, precision, craftsmanship, and pride, all in the hands of anglers creating memories on the water.

Zoe has become an important part of the foundation of Maine Fly Company, and her dedication, consistency, and commitment to quality have helped shape who we are today. Her work has quite literally become part of Maine Fly Company history.

We couldn’t be more proud to recognize this achievement. Today, we celebrate Senior Rod Smith Zoe Kinsella.

This one’s for the dads.

The dads who get up before sunrise.

The dads who spend weekends on rivers, at rinks, on sidelines, in camp chairs, and behind the wheel driving from one dream to the next.

The dads who are tired but show up anyway.

The dads who teach, encourage, support, and quietly sacrifice more than anyone will ever know.

Recently, I had the chance to spend a day on the water with my boys. As much as I love the fish, moments like these remind me what it’s really about.

The memories.
The lessons.
The time together.

To all the fathers, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who are helping shape the next generation, thank you.

Happy Father’s Day Weekend from all of us at Maine Fly Company.

Shout out to @wjtraut 🎥 for creating this one!

Mother’s Day means a lot of things to a lot of people.

Around here at Maine Fly Company, it’s also a reminder that behind every honest small business… there’s usually a mom somewhere in the story.

This company was built around fly fishing, Maine waters, and craftsmanship. But the values behind it came long before the first fly rod was ever wrapped.

They came from my mom.

My mother owned and operated a small business in Maine for over 25 years. She taught me that your word matters. That kindness matters. That people remember how you make them feel long after the transaction is over.

A lot of those lessons quietly became part of the foundation of Maine Fly Company.

Today we’re thinking about all the moms who introduced kids to rivers, taught patience on riverbanks, supported wild dreams, untangled fly lines, packed the snacks, and somehow held everything together along the way.

We see you.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Maine Fly Company

Pretty surreal day for this little Maine fly rod company.

Yesterday, Maine Fly Company was featured by Google Small Business as their featured business of the day. What started with one fly rod, a love for Maine waters, and my father’s old gear somehow led to conversations in Washington, D.C. with Google and an incredible group of small business owners from around the country.

A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to fly down to D.C., learn from some incredibly smart people, connect with inspiring brands, and talk about the realities of building and growing a small business in today’s world.

For a company built around family, Maine waters and fly rods, its a pretty humbling thing to see our story shared on a platform like this. We’re proud. We’re grateful. And we’re still just getting started.

Really grateful for everyone who has supported Maine Fly Company along the way.

From the Royal River in Maine to Washington, D.C. -not bad for a little fly rod company from Maine.

Some days it’s Brookies in the pines. Some days it’s Stripers in the salt. This summer? We found ourselves on the bow, salty breezes in our faces, sharing fish tales between casts, and remembering why we love chasing fish- anywhere the water takes us! 🌊
Shout out to @maine_flyfish & @breakwood_fishing_adventures for hosting us on this one. 🎥 @reel.tales

We’re proud to share - Repurposed Waders is now officially a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit!

From the banks of our favorite Maine rivers to the growing support of the fly fishing community, there’s been a lot of buzz over the past twelve months surrounding our newest endeavor—Repurposed Waders. What began as a passion project tied to our deep-rooted values at Maine Fly Company has grown into something with the power to create real, lasting environmental change.

Today, we are thrilled to officially announce that Repurposed Waders is now a recognized 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. This was no small feat. In a landscape packed with national fly fishing nonprofits—each with their own set of agendas and bureaucratic hurdles—we decided to forge our own path. We built something that reflects our mission directly, without dilution, and with our rivers and community at the very center. We didn’t want to simply align with someone else’s vision. We created a nonprofit that is the vision.
