I’ve been putting off this post because I didn’t even want to think about it but incase anyone is wondering why I’m not showing Onyx this summer, here’s an explanation. Onyx came back lame from our first show warm up of the season. We aren’t sure when it happened because he only appeared lame the next day after what felt like a good warm up. We had him ultrasounded and it turns out he has a small tear, about 1 centimeter long, in his tendon on the right front. We are going to give him the best care through his two month recovery period to make sure he heals as well and as quickly as possible. While I am really disappointed to miss pony finals again and our summer shows, I am more than anything sad to not be able to ride the pony I love so much this summer. In the meantime I am so lucky to have other ponies to help school, babies to break, and horses to learn on, though I’m counting down the days until I’m back on my lovely boy as well. Thank you very very much to @ridekatydidfarm for ensuring onyx always has the best care🤍 by @maisiel.eq

onyx and i had a great time in larges last week! this week because our division didn’t fill, we added a 2ft eq division since it was the only other thing my barn was doing and ended up getting reserve out of 17, winning the flat!! thank you @ridekatydidfarm for taking me!! taken in Fieldstone Show Park by @maisiel.eq
