Setting my mind and my body up for a new day…

My life, and my mind, have been particularly busy lately, so I’m using my early morning matcha to hold space for myself. To reframe and reset. Busy is not the goal. Rather FULL is.

For me, I want a life that is full of fun, laughter and play with the people I love most. A life where I feel a deep sense of peace. Where my mind has space to notice all of the beauty that surrounds me.

This is me.

Just another Mum trying to make some content and being teased by her ‘hilarious’ kids 😆

Like you, I’m a lot of things. At my best I’m playful and fun, sometimes I’m focused and determined, and at other times, I can be full of self doubt.

The one thing that always makes me a better version of myself, is my matcha.

Whether I need a grounding hug, some extra motivation or a reminder of who I really am, matcha always brings me back to myself, shines a light on my magic and reminds me to never give up.

Behind the scenes at Maison Maizen.

The last two weeks have been all about deliveries. Many, many GLORIOUS deliveries.

The reality of this little business is that there’s just me. Sourcing - me. Logistics - me. Importing - me. Website, Socials, Order fulfillment and Wholesale deliveries - all me.

Currently, I’ve got my Chief Warehouse Manager hat on. Although let’s be honest, I’ve skipped the hard hat and opted for a Raw Jarrah Honey face mask and matcha instead. Multitasking at its best! And we won’t mention that the ‘warehouse’ in mention is rapidly expanding throughout my entire home!

The art of hand whisking.

Most of the time I whisk for function. A brief 15 second whisk when time is of the essence and I’m focused on getting my matcha to my mouth.

Often I whisk for others. With love and the excitement of sharing.

Lately though, I’ve been whisking slowly and intentionally. With reverence for craft and tradition. With gratitude for my incredible farmers who crafted this exceptional matcha and remembering the techniques that my Sensei first taught me over 30 years ago.

It’s almost meditative. Have you tried it?

Winter finally caught up with me and I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather lately.

Overloading sunlight and vitamin C with a much needed matcha energy boost.

Don’t you just love how nature provides us with exactly what we need at exactly the right time of year 🍊✨

My kids devour these fresh orange juice gummies faster than candy and I love knowing that they’re so nourishing for their bodies too.

Most winter mornings look like this. Freshly squeezed oranges from my Aunt’s garden, a teaspoon of our raw jarrah honey with a sprinkle of sea salt, and candles - because I’m obsessed about making everyday moments feel even more magical than they already are.

@ken____leung ‘s amazing chicken bone broth is always a winner. Chicken, water and salt. Pure, simple and so incredibly restorative.

When I’m exhausted to the core, this is my medicine. The heat instantly melts my aches and pains away. 1ltr of electrolytes, pop on a mediation and in 30 mins I come out feeling alive again.

The blossoms are blooming, the birds are singing and my iced Sakura Sunrise matcha feels like a gentle whisper of an early Spring.

Some people come into your life and fill it with light. Valeria and Chloe are just two of those magical beings.
