Looking back at this Decorex masterclass still feels incredibly special. I had the pleasure of presenting Make It by Hand in Cape Town, a full-circle moment and an experience I’m truly grateful for

Throughout the session, we explored approachable printmaking techniques through live demonstrations and hands-on participation. What I loved most was watching everyone lean into the process, trying something new, playing with repetition, embracing the unexpected, and seeing beauty in the little imperfections that made every print personal. The energy in the room made the experience even more memorable.

“Make It By Hand "
A creative studio experience celebrating the beauty of making things yourself. This session introduces participants to DIY printing techniques in an accessible and playful way, showing how simple tools and experimentation can lead to bold creative outcomes.

Through live demonstrations and guided interaction, MAISON KOTR invites participants to create their own prints while learning about design, repetition, imperfection, and artistic freedom. The workshop becomes a space for collaboration, experimentation, and creative exchange.

MAISON KOTR had the pleasure of presenting Make It By Hand in partnership with Decorex at the Discovery Bank Home Loans DIY Studio ,an immersive creative experience that celebrated craftsmanship, curiosity, and the beauty of the handmade.

Together, we explored accessible printmaking techniques through live demonstrations and hands on making, inviting participants to embrace experimentation, discover the rhythm of repetition, and celebrate the imperfections that make every piece uniquely their own. It was inspiring to witness so many people engage with design in such an authentic, tactile, and expressive way.
