C’est avec une grande tristesse que nous apprenons la disparition de la baronne Myriam Ullens de Schooten Whettnal, entrepreneuse, mécène, et collectionneuse, engagée dans l’art, la mode et la philanthropie.

Avec son époux Guy Ullens, elle initie en 1993 un ambitieux programme éducatif au Népal, la Ullens School, à la fois orphelinat, centre de soins et centre éducatif d’enseignement primaire et secondaire.
Après avoir lutté contre un cancer en 2003, elle développe la Fondation Mimi Ullens, une fondation active dans la recherche contre le cancer et l’accompagnement des malades dans 8 hôpitaux français, belges et suisses.
En 2011 elle fondera Maison Ullens, une ligne de prêt à porter de luxe inspiré par les voyages qu’elle aimait tant.

Mimi nous rappelait constamment que le plus important est de remercier la vie tous les jours.
C’est ainsi qu’elle voudrait que tout le monde se souvienne d’elle.

It is with great sadness that we learn of the sudden passing of Baroness Myriam Ullens de Schooten Whettnal, entrepreneur, benefactor, and collector, engaged in Art, Fashion and Philanthropy.

With her husband Guy Ullens, she initiated in 1993, an ambitious educational program in Nepal, the Ullens School, which is both an orphanage, a care center and an educational center for primary and secondary education.
After surviving cancer in 2003, she developed the Mimi Ullens Foundation, a foundation active in cancer research in 8 French, Belgian and Swiss hospitals.
In 2011 she founded Maison Ullens, a luxury ready-to-wear line inspired by the travels she loved so much.

Mimi constantly reminded us that the most important thing is to say « thank you to life everyday ».
