POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi, I’m Romane.
If you’re just discovering us, let me share a little piece of our story.

My father, Paul, is an architect from Texas who was always drawn to Europe.
Before finding his sanctuary on the French Riviera, he spent years refining his craft alongside the masters.
His journey took him through Rome and Paris with Massimiliano Fuksas (@fuksas_architects)
Then from 1992 to 1997, he then joined Santiago Calatrava, (@calatravaofficial), moving between Paris and Zurich.
It was after these years across Europe's cultural capitals that he finally chose to anchor his life here on the Riviera.

Maison Carei began simply as a shared dream to create a family home surrounded by beautiful, landscaped gardens.

My own path led me to hospitality across the world. It started in Australia with a charming little restaurant called @themillechuca that completely changed the course of my life, followed by an incredible education in high-end service at @felix.merivale in Sydney.
In 2018 I came back home and started working in Monaco, most notably at @mayabaymonaco where I had a wonderful experience. I learnt the art of meticulous detail and genuine care.

These ten years shaped everything I am.
Today, my greatest passion is translating all of that experience into moments that stay with you, whether through a private dinner, a yoga retreat, a corporate retreat, or an intimate wedding.

If you’d like to see more of our story, welcome! And if you’re planning a gathering that feels like home, you can reach out to us here or drop us a message. We’d love to welcome you.

This morning my father and I took to the skies with Azur Parapente. 🪂

We are constantly searching for unique experiences to discover the Côte d’Azur from a fresh perspective, ensuring your stay at Maison Carei remains with you for a lifetime.

We had a bit of apprehension before taking off, which is completely normal, but when Thierry told us that the eldest person he had flown with was 94 years old, we told ourselves we had no more excuses. 😂

From our very first exchange with Thierry and his team to the moment we said goodbye, we felt completely supported. Experiencing it firsthand this morning made it an easy choice, and we are so glad to partner with them. by @maisoncarei

Little by little, the house is filling with warmth, turning into a place where we just want to stay, with everything we need right here. by @maisoncarei

My father spent years bringing organic farming back to life on these hand-carved stone terraces.

Because the land is steep and narrow, everything has to be done with a lot of patience, and hard work. But for him, there was never another option. This soil, and the way we work with it, is at the heart of Maison Carei and our farm-to-table spirit.
It is a natural symbiosis between the land and what ends up on your plate.

Eating well and knowing where your food comes from has become the true modern luxury.
Having healthy, living earth under our feet is the greatest wealth we could ask for.

This room belongs to the garden.
We call it “Persimon” because of the single persimmon tree just outside.

Last winter, my father and I decided to bring some color to the plain white walls.
The warm orange tones completely transformed the space, giving it a quiet warmth and a character that feels deeply personal.

To those who are joining us here for the first time, welcome to Maison Carei.

It all started in 2006 with a simple ruin. What you see today was born from my father’s passion, his architect’s eye, and countless pages of sketches. For as long as I can remember, he has never left home without his notebook and pen tucked in his shirt.
You will see while you’re visiting that every detail was carefully imagined, drawn, and brought to life.

After twenty years of hard work, continuous effort to revive the land, moments of doubt, and an unwavering dream, we are deeply proud to share this little piece of paradise with you.

While you are visiting, we want to curate truly special moment.

Beyond the quiet of our home lies a wilder side of the Riviera, full of hidden treasures waiting to be explored.

I recently went on a via ferrata I had been dreaming about for years.

The start was pure intensity and a huge rush of adrenaline.
But as I got into the rhythm, I felt so much joy, taking in the raw beauty of the canyons around me.
It was an incredible feeling.

This is the kind of adventure we want to bring to you.
We are building custom expeditions so you can experience these secret spots for yourself.

Here is to a thousand more moments like this. by @maisoncarei

After a beautiful summer season, the fireplaces are lit again. The pace has finally slowed down.
This winter, we’re hosting a few yoga retreats and taking advantage of the quiet months to keep working on projects around the domaine. A different kind of energy, but just as good. by @maisoncarei

It took us a long time to get the bedrooms right.
There were endless conversations, and moments where my father and I simply stood in a room, wondering if it truly felt like us.

We didn’t want a staged set or forced luxury.
We wanted something real.
A space that feels warm, intimate, and deeply restorative the second you step inside.

Even now, it’s a living process.
We are constantly refining the walls with subtle shades that catch the moving light, layering honest textures that invite you to touch, and hunting for timeless pieces that belong to this house as much as we do.

It’s a slow, thoughtful journey, to make sure you feel instantly at home. by @maisoncarei

When my father renovated this place, he didn’t build it to be a venue.
He wanted to create a simple, grounding home where people could gather, and feel completely at ease.

If you are looking for a calm, intimate space to hold a retreat, we would be honored to host you.

Send us a message if you’d like to hear more about the house or just have a quiet chat about what you’re planning. by @maisoncarei

Day four, and the final day of La Maison Suspendue 🪷

Our last yoga practice, the last massages, brunch under the olive trees, and a very special cacao ceremony to close these magical days together.

We all felt that subtle transformation. Our bodies softened, emotions had come to the surface, our minds became clearer, and we left with that feeling of being deeply aligned, nourished by nature, movement, and inspiring connections.

I’m endlessly grateful for this group, for their trust, their energy, and everything we shared.

I was so emotional at the end of this retreat. And I hope that, at the end of every retreat, I will still cry. From gratitude and from knowing how much of my heart I’ve put into this work.

This retreat has been so much more than something I created. It has nourished every cell of my body.
