We’re hiring.

Seven weeks in and Maison Castanié is already growing, new processes, a phase 2 already taking shape, and a role that could become one job or two, depending on who walks through the door.

This isn’t just a shift job. You’d be part of a small team shaping how this place feels and runs from here. Days spent among good coffee, French deli, fresh baguettes, homewares, and (soon) clothing and wine, talking to people who love these things as much as we do, in one of the prettiest spots on Deeside.

Theres plenty room to grow with us, personally and professionally, as the business does.

18–30 hours/week, weekends essential, 18+, retail or hospitality experience a must.

Walking the Deeside Way? From Banchory to Milton of Crathes is an out-and-back 10k with Maison Castanie making a great re-fueling break halfway or do it in reverse and you might be quick enough to nab some patisseries!

Three weeks in….

Ce weekend was hot, busy, and sold out before we were ready.

We’re still learning - but we’re listening, adapting, and getting better every single day. And the community building around us? It’s everything we hoped for, you are a lovely lot!

What a first week. Merci to everyone who’s found us - we’ve loved the conversations, and it already feels like we’re becoming part of people’s days.

We’re open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 to 4. At the weekend, come early if you’re hoping for one of Graham Sutherland’s gâteaux - made exclusively for us, and they haven’t make it past midday yet.

The deli fridge has had a fresh restock too - fromage, charcuterie, French olives and cornichons, if you need us.

A little bit of France in the heart of Deeside… 🇫🇷

This afternoon I headed over to @maisoncastanie for a browse around their new cafe and shop. Unfortunately I missed out on the handmade patisserie from @thepastryacademy however, I still picked up a coffee and a madeleine.

Such a lovely spot, will definitely be back (a little earlier next time) taken in Milton of Crathes by @maisoncastanie

We’re hiring.

Maison Castanié is open at Milton of Crathes, beside the River Dee - and we’re looking for 1–2 people to join us.
We’re a family-run deli and shop built around the things we love most. Croissants worth getting out of bed for. Jambon and fromage imported from France, because life’s too short for anything less. Filled baguettes (have you tried our jambon beurre yet 😍), all made with care. Coffee done properly. A curated edit of artisanal homewares you probably won’t find anywhere else in the north east. Clothing arrived in the months ahead. And one of the most beautiful spots in Aberdeenshire to sit and enjoy it all - a couple of tables inside, or take it outside and let the Dee do the rest.

This is a place built around slowing down, appreciating beautiful things, and doing them properly. You’ll work amongst all of it - the food, the coffee, the product - and be part of shaping something from the very beginning.
The role covers coffee, baguettes and bakery prep and service, deli counter (yes, you’ll be cutting the good stuff), till and shop floor. Shifts are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 9–5.30, with occasional extra hours.

Scottish Living Wage. Coffee and lunch on shift. Staff discount in store and online. And the chance to learn, grow, and be genuinely part of something special.

No experience needed. We’re looking for warmth, personality, a genuine love of good food, drink and beautiful things - and someone who gets why the right croissant with the right coffee, on a slow morning, beside the River Dee actually matters.
