And yes this was our second Galette des Rois and it’s only January 1st 😂😂😂

This house is a dream! Located in a small French village in Provence, baguette and croissant delivery at your doorstep every morning, stunningly decorated (so French!), so welcoming and everything you could possible dream of from comfy beds to a Lacanche stove and a kitchen stocked with things from @e_dehillerin in Paris!! Oh and did I mention, there’s a pool… 🤗

Psst - if you’re looking for the perfect rental in Provence, I can’t say anything but good things about this place! From Paris it’s less than a 3 hour train ride. A rental car is so easy to pick up at the Avignon train station and from there a short picturesque drive to a tiny village outside of Uzes (one of our favorite towns in Provence). They’re booking for 2026 right now!

For as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with @houseandgardenuk. To me it is the gold star when it comes to interior design publications. It’s one of the few shelter magazines I still have delivered both at the France house and in the states. I have kept every issue.

Earlier this year, I connected with @aconsideredspace whom I’ve admired from afar. She submitted our house to H&G on our behalf. To see our home published in my favorite magazine by the talented Eleanor Cording-Booth is the perfect bookend to this long journey. What an honor it is. Thank you so much to @houseandgardenuk for featuring our home, and on the homepage no less. A day I won’t forget.

A morning wandering the Uzès market with a basket in hand. An afternoon cooling off in the pool. A quiet moment in the shade with a book. Dinner stretching long into the evening as the courtyard begins to glow.

One of my favorite parts of renovating an old house is discovering the potential in spaces that others might overlook.

This long, empty enfilade once felt like little more than a passageway. Today, it’s one of the coziest corners of the house—a quiet den where guests gather to read, play games, or simply slow down.

I love watching insignificant spaces come to life. Sometimes, it’s the rooms you almost forget about that end up becoming the ones you never want to leave.

I have a deep love for a good vignette. An antique chest of drawers paired with an old mirror, an oil painting, and a few objects collected along the way. Mustn’t forget a good table lamp too.

I love the art of layering old pieces together and creating little moments throughout a home that feel collected, personal, and lived in.

Looking back at these before-and-afters, it’s hard to believe this is the same house. Renovating Maison de Frédéric was a much longer road than we ever imagined. There were countless setbacks, difficult decisions, and more than a few moments when I wondered if we should just give up. It tested my patience, my resolve, and, honestly, my sanity at times. But scrolling through these photos reminds me that the most meaningful things rarely come easily.

Seeing how far this old house has come—and knowing the memories that are now being made within these walls—makes every challenge feel worthwhile.
If you’re in the middle of a renovation, keep going. One day you’ll look back at your own before-and-afters and realize just how far you’ve come. 🤍

Children leap from sun-warmed rocks, kayaks drift lazily down the Gardon River, and centuries-old Roman architecture watches over it all—just as it has for nearly 2,000 years.
