as we glide into 2026, let’s remember where we are at. and let us prepare for where we are going — with an emphasis on taking our time getting there. we are in a culture where we feel everything must be instant in order to be productive or applaud-worthy….let’s unlearn that. gentle reminders for us sensitive creatives. signs of the times — allow yourself to be held. #newyear #creative #artist #wellness #foryou by @maisononi
Winter is here, and we are in the thick of cluttered emotions, family drama (and perhaps, trauma), and comfort food! What does that mean for our work? Is it impacted by the seasons — particularly, the cold and sometimes overwhelming Winter? For some of us, it’s quite a booming and fruitful season. Lots of work can be made during what feels like a hibernation season, because staying inside is encouraged, with the exception of the various holiday-themed soirées for those who celebrate. Nonetheless, the are still many of us who often get swept up in the seasonal blues and have a hard time finding and/or keeping inspiration or staying true to our own versions of productivity. For those of us who do identify with the latter, we offer you a moment to pause and reflect. These questions are meant to help us find our way through those rigid times and feelings of uncertainty. Maybe we haven’t had the physical time to pause — but how can we check in with ourselves before we hit peak overwhelm? How can we make sure we are still in alignment with our vision, values and overall ethos? What does calling in presence and pausing for reflection as an artist look like for you this season? #artists #maisononi #arttherapy #holiday #creative by @maisononi
As we ease deeper into this new week, let’s take a second to breathe and re-align. There’s always time to center ourselves, even when we’re in the thick of adulting! Here are a couple mantras to say to yourself when the creatively thriving you feels a little far away #creative #artists #community #bipoc #mantra #health #wellness #artdaily #arttherapy #maisononi #moodboard #collective #design #social #agency #culture #cultura #brooklyn #newyork by @maisononi
Happy Monday! Brainstorming in the form of vision-boarding/mood boarding is always a YES 📌🔖🧷 If you are currently on your way to a job right now — fair, we get it. But when you clock out, what can you commit to working on for YOU? Doesn’t have to be crazy…In fact, let’s start here..What does your dream life look like, if you could render it visually? What would the studio space consist of? What would the home space feel like? Half of the battle of obtaining it is envisioning it! We all have been “manifest”-ed out by social media, but in truth — visualizing exactly what you want is the first and most vital step into building out the life you desire. #motivation #monday #mondaymoodboard #artists #artistsupportartists #blackartists #qtbipoc #creator #creatorsearchinsights #artistled #thirdspace #substack by @maisononi
Happy Sol-day — Let’s talk about it….Reclaiming our time? Miss Maxine ain’t never lied. As we follow suit, let’s talk about where to start. And what to END! These are just a couple of gentle reminders on how to maintain your autonomy, vision, and identity as a BIPOC artist in a world that all but forces you to conform to narrow European standards around ‘production’ and ‘acquisition’ — when all we are really here to do is create. Let’s get back to that in the most authentic way possible. For more topics like this, follow our Substack, as we will be releasing writings that dive deeper into these conversations weekly.
