I grew up in the place where nothing seemed impossible, in the atelier. The shapes were sprawling up from thin air, to conjoin in the everyday creation.

From the age of thirteen, I joined my father in the atelier and tested my first attempts, clumsily. The imitating game - modelling busts based on examples or real life were as easy for me as breathing, but the creation of new, abstract compositions took long years to master.

Soon after that, first attempts to convert this knowledge into design followed, clumsily as well. The complexity of sculptural world had to be correctly translated into reduced forms. One could say I had to reverse a bit and reduce the richness of aesthetics - or better said - distill it completely into functional, rational systems.

I was looking for a suitable commercial vehicle to unload the knowledge, once it was ready to be passed on into design. Glass seemed as the right bet. While I do many other facets of design, glass still holds most of my interest.

I could not gather all my recent work, but these did well and some of them are the closest to my heart, all of these creations pushed the commercial and artisanal production of glass to its limits. by @maisonvenkov

This table was originally designed, together with the chairs, to showcase my products and has been since featured in many renders. Can you recognize the three products on the table which were made im real life?#bottledesign #glassdesign #productdesign #luxuryproducts by @maisonvenkov

Rounding up the Halloween posts, the Cubist in a fitting environment.

This bottle can be made only in crystal glass and thus is suitable for only the most premium spirits.

Sculptures and living spaces contend with similar challenges. A sculpture needs to draw both the space and the spectator in and swirl them around its body.
Living spaces need to do very much the same, invite both the viewer but also the external environment in, and connect them in equilibrium. Bath space is an ideal showcase of such possibilities. The act of cleansing and all its parts provides potentially for a rich design etude.

This model bathroom presents a completely sculptural take on one of the most important spaces in any residence.

Disclaimer - The space is completely modelled and arranged in 3ds max, rendered in still images in Corona and then fed to Seedance 2.5 for animation.
All the sculptures in the scene are of the author.

Presentation is everything.

Modelled in 3ds Max, rendered in Corona, processed in Seedance for motion and environment.

What happens to a concept if it is acquired? It is exported to industrial formats directly for mould manufacturing and made with select glass manufacturing partners.

The Cubist is a geometric concept paying hommage to the cubist period of architectural and product design.

The vessel is suitable only for crystal glass production with acid polishing and thus only for utmost premium spirits.

The glass can be produced with trusted manufacturing partners in Europe.

Now, the question is, why is somebody interested in complexity, but not simplicity. Well, these two are actually the same. Simplicity does not have to mean crude void of shapes, materials or execution. Complexity is simply layering of simplicities. I am not interested in ornaments. I am interested of reductions to "atoms" - but I am not reducing the number of the "atoms".
The final destination is beauty - but in its true sense - the life. The more complex is the lifeform, the more beautiful it is as it needs to evolve a myriad of internal struggles to survive. It is the very same with the design. by @maisonvenkov

What does really the term "luxury" really mean? Apart from the cost, it simply means organic artificial complexity. What might seem as an oxymoron is easily explained.
Organic in this instance means "naturally" grown around axes of functionality. The more there are, the more connections and layers can be sustained in between them.
Artificial - because it is a human made system, not occuring in nature. Complexity is necessary within any "luxurious" objects, because it involves the layering of connections mentioned above, but also their refinement - and the more complex the object is, the more difficult is the refinement of its parts. High cost necessarily accrues, not on a whim, but based on the involved processes, materials and time required to design, manufacture and assembly.

I personally dislike the use of the word "luxury" as that was not my goal or motivator in work, I am simply interested in complexity. However, using such nomenclature is sadly non-marketable.

A good example of organic artificial complexity are high- end watches, but it can be easily applied to interiors as well, such as the presented bar.

Every interior would be amiss without my vessels.
