“Reconciling With A Dying World” is out now! I’m beyond proud of this one and am so happy it’s out in the world. Written and produced with @joey_md_ and all photos and VHS shot by @madeleine.mayi . We put a lot of love into this and I hope it can be a gentle bit of catharsis

I started writing this song in 2023 when it felt like everything was collapsing and all I could summon was helplessness. At the time I was watching videos being posted live from Gaza but this song is kind of about all of it - genocide, climate change, authoritarianism, kidnappings by ICE, unfortunately the list could keep going.

I was, and still am, grappling with the idea of living through such disturbing times. You still have to live out each day. You keep making grocery lists, keep going to work, keep writing songs, keep making plans for the future. You definitely keep showing up for the people you love. You keep celebrating birthdays, and keep planning weddings.

I think about this a lot through the lens of an artist, too. Should I keep the release date for this song? Should anyone be talking about music right now? Should I be participating on social platforms owned by autocratic billionaires in any capacity? I’m honestly not sure what’s right, I just decided to stick to my plan. Live through it. I figure more art in the world rarely hurts.

I don’t know much, but I’ve learned for myself that power is felt through action. One small, imperfect action can do more for yourself and the world than sitting and dreading ever could. Call your representatives, educate your loved ones, donate, protest, protect your neighbors. Make beautiful things, remind people of our humanity.

Stay safe out there, friends taken in Los Angeles, California by @maisyn____

“Past Life” out now! 🫀 I didn’t know what this project would be when I started it, but it was pretty damn fun to find it along the way. This EP is for all my girls with big hearts and even bigger problems with forgetting the past. I hope “Past Life” gives you a great soundtrack to cry and move on to ✨

Beyond grateful to all my wonderful collaborators on this project, I’m so lucky to make music and art with you all.

These songs are about a version of myself that I stopped being years ago, but I found out I could really only write them with retrospect. I suppose a song will find you when you’re ready! Stream her and give her all the love in the world, thank you ✨ taken in Los Angeles, California by @maisyn____
