POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

posting this one even though i have home to strongly dislike it because its been a while since i posted on here & it was also a learning moment! the lesson being that i hate trying to paint colors the exact same way as the reference photograph and i will never be doing that again…. ill be continuing to paint w my funky colors because i absolutely hated how it turned out and it started to make me miserable.

i liked how it was going at first but it all just got lost in translation and muddy and its not my favorite and that happens sometimes and its okay (im coping) and i think it looks worse on camera which is making me dislike it even more. i literally only finished this today because i was tired of it sitting in my room and haunting me i cant look at it any longer its time to start something new.

alright u get the idea & lesson learned but maybe you’ll like it more than i do. based on a reference picture of me getting my first american girl doll pictured at the end :p

anyways here’s a quick background story for u all. i was chatting w and telling a coworker of mine a while back that i like to paint and she was telling me how she wanted an abstract painting with yellow, blue, green, red, and orange for her bedroom and i was like yesss this is my chance for a comeback. and here we are

anyways this is acrylics on 24x35 inch canvas :] + some detail shots (these pics kinda suck cuz i forgot to take them until she was like 2 minutes away😭)

anyways now that i am actually done w college and have some more time on my hands hopefully more art will be coming soon🫰 thank you kindly by @maivalentines

acrylic on 20x15in canvas (!!!!!)

this one has a little bit of a background story… for my english class this semester we had to write a research paper and accompanying “visual essay” with any medium of our choice. i’ve had the chance to do more creative assignments for some of my classes before and i always jump to do a painting for them when i can. i wrote mine about one of my favorite movies of all time, saving face (which i cannot recommend enough), and did this painting for the visual essay. spent my spring break working on it and had a lot of fun. i also have to present it next week so wish me luck 🤞

ps does anyone have any tips for taking better photos of my paintings i feel like i always do a terrible job & i can only fit the small ones in my scanner 😭 by @maivalentines
